We stayed here with a group of friends after visiting the races. The rooms were very clean and comfortable & the staff were lovely. Great atmosphere in the pub and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. A lick of paint in the bedrooms would give 5 stars ! Would recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable room within easy walking distance...

Needs updating from pain work to new curtains, but our stay was for only one night and the staff couldn't do enough for us very central to the city centre and hand if you have a child in university.breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable

The pub/hotel could do with a lick of paint and some maintenance. We had a reasonable night however, although the room was hot. As it is by a main road, it is noisy if the window was opened. The staff were excellent and friendly and the breakfast was reasonable, but not the best. The pub is well located for access...

My other half knew of this place having been to college here in the 1980s and I don't think the bedrooms have seen a lick of paint since. Peach emulsioned swirly wallpaper, mismatched and stained bedroom furniture, a LOT of dust on carpet edges and large cobwebs in the corner of the ceilings are pretty inexcusable. Noisy at night from...

Our Friday night football team chose to cycle 40 mile to Chester. The George and Dragon was for a group of 10 was the most cost effective. The customer service was good, breakfast was good and the rooms, while basic fulfilled our needs.

The Hotel/Pub itself is in a good location and it had plenty of car parking which as a guest was complimentary - we arrived early on the Saturday and as our room hadn't been used the night before we were able to go in immediately and had car parking for the whole of that day and the following if required...

We came here for the races with friends from all over UK and US from Greece. Rooms were ready, easy parking and a great lunch. Unfortunately one of our party had an accident and ended up needing hospital treatment. Hotel staff were fab, even gave me a mobile number in case I needed help at the hospital over night. This...

Booked this at the last minute for a couple of nights. The woman who greeted us,booked us in,up graded our room, cooked our breakfasts on both days was brilliant. The hotel is situated just outside the city walls but very walkable. Be aware that this is a sports pub and very full if Liverpool are on the telly but you...
