Accommodation is in a row of old mews cottages at the side of the main Restaurant/Bar. On sight they look nice, but there is a downside! The main building which is the Restaurant/Bar is based on the countryside pub theme and is actually very nice. The food was good and reasonably priced with a good variety on the menu. We...

We booked this hotel for a long weekend away - was just like it was advertised. Perfect location - 10 minutes from the zoo, 15 minutes from Cheshire Oaks & 10 minutes from the city centre. Staff all lovely & accommodating. The rooms were lovely and clean, just what we needed for a weekend away. Wouldn't hesitate to visit here...

We stayed at the Innkeeper's Lodge in Christleton, Chester, on a weekend in early October with the aim of using the hotel as a base for exploring Chester. We had booked for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday nights) arriving late evening on Friday. The adjoining pub bar was busy, however the staff got us checked in right away with the...

Met my now husband at the adjacent pub a few years ago and loved the setting of the hotel so looked forward to a break there. After a tough time in recent months we were desperate to relax and sleep. Check in was good and friendly and we were directed to our room. We were happy to be staying by...

Lovely accommodation clean and quiet, staff great, food lovely and prices reasonable, Chester city centre £7 in a cab.... Ideal. Only bad point was that the bar closed at 11 p.m. It would have been nice to return to the hotel for a night cap.

Lovely place really clean. We stayed one night and had a great time - breakfast was super and the staff are so helpful. We will eat in the pub next time as the menu looked good. Situated next to the canal and we had a lovely little walk along there.

We stayed in the Cow and Calf room above the pub and restaurant. The room was large but the bed was very lumpy and a bit uncomfortable. The kids were fine though on a pull out sofa bed. The wardrobe didn't lock properly either. We only stayed one night so it didn't matter anyway. The room was very clean though....

We stayed here for a local wedding and just had a lovely time. We stayed in the hedgehog room which was really cute with its low ceilings. Check in was smooth and the friendly, the room was really clean, and breakfast sat outside on the beautiful garden furniture was just perfect! Worth the upgrade for the cooked breakfast too! Thank...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Of all the places to stay in Chester, this historic lodge has some of the best tales to tell. Built in Christleton on a key civil war battle site, the Cheshire Cat played a crucial role in World War II before being restored as a warm and welcoming hotel in the 1970s.The lodge's 14 comfy en-suite rooms are complemented by a cosy pub, which is dripping with rustic character and rural charm. Here you can enjoy seasonally inspired country dining together with a range of cask ales and well-chosen wines. There are plenty of things to see and do in Chester. Fantastic shopping, black and white medieval architecture, historic city walls and the famous Chester Racecourse are just a few of its many attractions. Children and adults alike will love Chester zoo or you can explore the weaving footpaths of the unspoilt Delamere Forest. West Cheshire is full of rolling hills, sweeping valleys and quaint market towns worth exploring. ... more   less
