Just got back from a trip to Falmouth with Alfa. We were a bit dubious as a previous trip with Alfa, to Isle of Man, wasn`t very good. What a difference! The Madeira was warm welcoming clean. We had a ground floor room which was at the back of the bar, we thought oh no noise, we didn`t hear a... More

Stayed overnight for visit with my son to the local university campus in Penryn. The hotel is easy to find and right across from the sea with fab views from lounge. Staff were all helpful and friendly. The hotel may be a little dated in decor but it was spotlessly clean and warm. Lovely lounge and bar area. Reasonably priced... More

I was quoted a price which I prepaid via booking.com by credit card. On arrival I was asked to pay more, which I was not happy with. They tried to blame booking.com but their customer service was appalling. They offered a very small reduction but it was nowhere near enough. I said I wanted to cancel the whole 4 nights,... More

Dear Granny008, Thank you for taking the time to review. I see that you commented that the hotel could do with a “refresh/refurbishment” and would like to advise that we carry out a ‘Winter Works’ refurbishment programme every year. We regularly find that our guests are happy with the rooms allocated to them, it is unfortunate that you had no... More

This hotel is well situated with a short , level walk into town and level walks along the esplanade . It has spacious, comfortable lounges and a bar area where the prices are reasonable. The bedrooms vary in size but all are clean have good quality towels and plenty of hot water . The service is excellent from the manager... More

Traveled with Alpha Coach Holidays, five day break (4 nights). Excellent value included excursions to The Eden Project and St. Ives. Very clean bathroom and bedding, though furnishings generally tired. The staff and service was excellent. Evening dinner offered three courses with decent choices and waiter service. Breakfast was also served to your table and we found the default full... More

This a return coach tour visit, the hotel may be outdated and needs refurbishment but has a unique charm. The only downside is a lack of a regular bus service (20 mins walk on level ground to FALMOUTH). Excellent location, good room, very efficient and helpful hotel staff.

Although the room was clean and tidy. The hotel is in a sorry state it must be 20+ years since it was redecorated. Carpets are worn in places and decor in upstairs corridors and room are in a poor condition. The room was basic and no biscuits to go with the tea or coffee. Breakfast was odd as you could... More

The hotel is in a lovely cliff position with panoramic sea views. Easy access to the beach, Pendennis point and Falmouth itself. Once inside the hotel looks tired and in need of refresh/ refurb. The bedroom we had was small but adequate and the bed was comfortable. The shower was great, with a decent water pressure. The staff are very... More
