Stayed here last year when we did a little road trip round Cornwall. Lovely stop for one night. Lovely bar and restaurant. Fish was fresh and even gave name of fisherman who caught it. Clean, comfortable and able to take dogs. There was a little trail you could walk dog off lead. Would definitely stay again.

If you are looking for some quiet quality time in a peaceful setting with fabulous views, then this has to be the place to go! Safari tent 1 was very spacious and spotlessly clean, it had everything that you would require for a few days away from the busy hustle and bustle of day to day life. The large deck had magnificent views of the valley and the outside space with fire pit was a tremendous place to bbq in the evening. Even though it was July, one evening went off a bit cool, so it was great to have a basket of logs and to light the wood burner. This trip was with our adult daughter, but I would love to return with just my wife for a romantic weekend at some point in the autumn when the leaves change colour to get a different perspective. Highly recommend to anyone... couples, families or singles, however, I would point out that to enjoy the fabulous views there is a flight of steps to negotiate so those less able may struggle. Oh, and by the way, Will the owner was very helpful and accommodating.

From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome, the staff are friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and airy, the bar and dining room spotless. They carry a great menu and the food is well presented and hot, straight from the kitchen, good value too!!

We have just returned from a week stay as a family party of 8 in the two safari tents. The location is very secluded and realistically you have to drive to visit anywhere through very windy narrow lanes. The lanes do add to the charm of Cornwall and it is a very beautiful spot, but takes some getting used too - we wouldn’t risk driving them at night.
The safari tent was spacious and very clean with comfortable beds and a private bathroom a short walk away. There were clean fresh towels available and some toiletries too, overall a pleasant experience.
However, we were very disappointed to discover that the menu was reduced due to COVID; we had booked it mainly based on the amazing food promised. There were 3 choices of starter, main and dessert - none of which were the traditional food we were expecting (eg a Sunday roast). This did force us to drive out to other places to eat out and even pick up pizzas as they had nothing that appealed to us.
Overall, this factor did somewhat spoilt an otherwise lovely stay in a lovely location.

Hidden gem.
We stayed at this fantastic inn for a four day break.
The owners and staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
There was a lot of choice for breakfast and they catered for any dietary needs.
We had dinner at the Inn every evening but booking is essential as it is very popular.
The setting of the inn is very tranquil and relaxing.
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed.
My husband and I chose the inn for it's location so that we could explore Cornwall which we think has the most amazing places to visit, The Lizard being our favourite.
We will definitely return to Trengilly as Cornwall has a special place in our hearts.
Thank you, Trengilly, for an amazing break away.

We visited for a drink the previous evening and the menu looked so good we booked for Sunday lunch. Lovely surroundings and nice little Snug where we were sat. I chose pigeon breast starter which when it arrived the portion was enormous. Sadly it was so tough I couldn't cut it and the piece I did manage to cut I couldn't chew. The waitress took our plates away and I was quite surprised when she didnt ask why I hadn't ate any of it. The roast pork came out and there was a variety of vegetables and home cooked roast potatoes. Sadly the pork had little or no meat just soggy fat. The vegetables had been sat in water for ages and were cold and over cooked and the delicious looking roast potatoes were also cold and had that recognisable taste of being sat around for a fair few hours. Again lots left on the plates and the waitress didnt ask why. Very disappointed.

This visit once again reminded us how the Trengilly blends the best of Cornish Village life, clean and comfortable accommodation, splendid food and friendly and unassuming style. There is nothing ostentatious or pretentious about Trengilly - just a warm, home-from-home experience with everything to enable a fantastic break in the wonderful Cornish countryside with great value for money. Friendly management and staff add to the warmth.

Trengilly is so well positioned for amazing country walks direct from the hotel (particularly taking in the granite mining and exporting history of Constantine,Polwheveral and Scott's Quay, and the beauty of the Helford River. It is also very conveniently located for visiting all the main towns and attractions of South West Cornwall.

Visited several times and hope to continue doing so.

We stayed for 2 nights here and found a warm welcome from the hosts and staff, the room was not large but adequate and very clean with an up to date ensuite bathroom. The food was exceptionally good with a good choice of food and drink. The breakfast was something else, and we could have could have eaten these all day, they were so good. the location is a bit tucked away so be sure you have a good system to find the Inn.
It is a goood starting point to explore the area with Trebah gardens just about 3 miles away. The host is very helpful about local travel which can save a lot of trouble. An enjoyable stay

We stayed at this Inn during half term with our daughter granddaughter and their dog. We booked a two bedroom apartment and were not sure what to expect apart from it had self catering facilities and took dogs. From the first minute we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The inn has extensive grounds and we could let our dog off the lead for her to explore.
The apartment, above the inn with its own entrance had a spacious lounge diner, a small modern kitchen and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. All rooms were clean and spacious, the main bedroom was beautifully furnished with a large double bed. We also had plenty of hot water.
We ate in the inn for two nights which we enjoyed and the food was plentiful.
We would definitely visit again, maybe to stay in one of the Safari tents in the grounds!

Hidden away down down a pretty valley, an Inn full of character & warmth. Will, Lisa & their team have worked so hard to put effective coronavirus measures in place for their guests, and still maintain the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that has always been there. Comfortable accommodation, great food, both at breakfast and for dinner, and an atmospheric bar/bistro to eat in. Having been many times over the years it remains one of our favourite places of peace and tranquility. And it’s dog friendly too!
