Breakfast also excellent with a decent cold buffet with local jams and honey and a made to order hot breakfast. Kippers were excellent and you dine with lovely views of the sea.
Ordered a birthday cake and champagne which was delivered to the room with great ceremony and was excellent.
ÂŁ20.00 for a freshly made cake was I feel excellent value for money. The fact that the Hotel does not accept Pets is a huge bonus for us as I do not enjoy sharing restaurants and bars with our four legged friends.
The Hotel still provides a service which many Hotels no long do, old fashioned but also friendly. the leisure facilities were excellent, and as with all Brend Hotels I have stayed in was clean and well organised.

Our willingness to tip was met with the advice to rather leave cash in a box at the reception. The proceeds are then divided among all staff, we learned. It appears socialism is alive and well in the poshed of places.
Overlooking the beach on the edge of town, the hotel was very welcoming, warm and smart. I'd chosen one of the more reasonable priced rooms with an 'inland view' which was fine for me but even so, the kitchen roof certainly wasn't attractive at all! It was a cosy room with a cosier bathroom but to be expected. It would have been nice to have a small fridge and the luxury of daily fresh milk but perhaps I should pay extra for that. The bed was very comfortable, warm and had a pillow choice.
The best bit for me was the excellent food in the dining room. I'd previously mentioned a couple of food allergies so was offered a special menu each evening which was much appreciated as I knew I could eat anything listed. The beef carpaccio was the best ever as a starter. The service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast was very good too. Mainly buffet as usual with hot offer. Unfortunately one morning I had poached eggs expecting the eggs to taste of something but was disappointed. I didn't order them again,
My only gripe was that the door closers (automatically closing the bedroom doors along a long corridor) were super efficient, meaning that every closure sounded like a slam and was noisy. Constantly. Perhaps they could be adjusted to be a little more gentle to avoid the sound of slamming door throughout the day/evening?
Well done again to Brend hotels for such a lovely hotel and welcoming staff. I'll be back!

Breakfast, plenty of choice but the Full English was very ordinary: one sausage, two rashers, half a grilled tomato, one hash brown and some mushrooms. We could get better than this in a Premier Inn.
There seemed to be a lot of penny-pinching going on; only three small UHT milk cartons per person per day, similarly only two biscuits each per person per day. Where were the fresh flowers in our room on arrival, a complimentary bottle of Prosecco, a personalised welcome note from the Manager?
The website claims that all guests are offered an upgrade on arrival to a better quality room. We were told none were available despite the hotel being very quiet. Has anyone ever received an upgrade or is this a clever marketing ploy?
Overall, we expected luxury for the price we paid and didn’t get it.
