We made a booking on 1st Jan for 4th to 6th Jan. When we arrived we found we had been given a room upgrade which was unexpected, but unfortunately unknown to the reception team we had booked a room with an extra wide bed due to my being 2m tall and wanting the extra space to sprawl across. Our thanks to Sophie for rearranging us into a different room with a fabulous view across the harbour to Flushing. The room was spotless and had a superking sized bed, chairs for the bay window, a mini fridge, coffee maker with a choice of coffee capsules and a small teapot which is a nice touch. The Water's Edge bar is a relaxing space for a drink whilst looking over the harbour with the Working Boat bar below the restaurant being more of a pub atmosphere. We used the restaurant for breakfast, which has a wide range of options, and for a meal on one night. The Sunday night menu is based more around the continuation of Sunday lunch e.g. roast beef and roast chicken instead of steak or a different chicken dish with a choice of other dishes available. One of us had the roast beef which was huge and the other had duck. All the food we had was well cooked and nicely presented. It is clear from our all-too-short stay that the staff (both front and back of house) want their guests to have a relaxing and trouble free stay and that is what we got. We will certainly be returning later in the year.

Dear JollyBoaters, Many thanks for taking the time to share feedback following your recent stay. I’m so pleased you appreciated your upgrade, although I’m sorry that the initial room didn’t suit your requirements. I’m delighted that Sophie was able to quickly find a solution and you enjoyed the breath-taking harbour view. It’s great to know that you appreciated the relaxed atmosphere of The Water’s Edge bar to the cosy charm of our pub – The Working Boat. Thank you for your praise regrading your meals, I’ll be sure to share with our kitchen brigade. Our staff always strive to go above and beyond to make our guests' stay as enjoyable as possible, so it is a pleasure to hear such kind words in your review. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back for more relaxation and enjoyment in the future. Kind Regards, Fi, Guest Relations Manager

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in July 2023. We had booked a classic room. Unfortunately, the room description does not state that these rooms have the window directly facing the street. Due to the lack of insulation in the windows, these rooms are quite noisy. On the other hand, the room on the ground floor including the bathroom was freshly renovated and tastefully furnished. Unfortunately, the hallways are rather "historic" with creaky floors, dirty carpet and a scary elevator. The restaurant with a sea view is very nice and the high quality breakfast with full service (no buffet). The service was good on 2 days, on one our order was completely lost. Parking is included for hotel guests, but at peak times all parking spaces are often occupied. Especially in the evening at mealtime when external restaurant guests also use the parking spaces. These guests then leave at some point and the parking situation improves. But of course this only helps to a limited extent in the situation. Reception was very committed when we were not satisfied with the room (street). Unfortunately, a free move to the water side failed due to availability. We were then able to negotiate a discount with the friendly hotel manager.

We stayed four nights at the Greenbank in the Lookout Suite. Check in was smooth and efficient with a friendly greeting from Kim. The lookout suite is absolutely beautiful with stunning views out over the Harbor. The suite was so comfortable you would want to stay longer in the room and enjoy it. An absolutely incredible huge bathroom with lovely fixtures both separate bath and massive shower. The shower was pressure was great with both rainfall and spray head options. There was a generous supply of coffees, teas, biscuits etc. replenished daily. You can notice in the hallways that this is Falmouth’s oldest hotel based on the design and sizing. That said, the entire hotel is impeccably maintained and is quite impressive. Breakfast was made to order and very good. The complimentary mini afternoon tea was fantastic and a very much appreciated bonus. The views from the restaurant looking out over the harbor are lovely a really nice environment. The pub food was fabulous and reasonably priced. We didn’t have dinner in the Waterfront restaurant as we felt the menu was limited, somewhat formal and quite expensive. Parking at the hotel was good we were lucky to find a spot underground without issue. I would whole heartedly highly recommend the Greenbank Hotel to anyone visiting the Cornwall area, I promise you won’t want to leave if you book the “Lookout Suite”!

Dear SkyKing50, Thank you so much for providing your comments following your stay, I am so glad to hear how highly you rated your time with us. The staff are a huge credit to the Greenbank and I'm glad that Kim ensured a smooth, efficient and of course friendly check-in was performed. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed our absolutely beautiful Lookout Suite, and appreciated the impressive harbour view, spacious bathroom with great facilities and our complimentary provisions tray. We take great pride in providing a high standard of comfort, it’s pleasing to know this was achieved. I am so glad that you enjoyed fabulous food in our pub and enjoyed a very good breakfast with lovely estuary views. Many thanks for the recommendation, should you ever return to Cornwall it would be our absolute pleasure to welcome you back for more relaxation and enjoyment. Plus - a grand site on the estuary-port overlooking a fleet of anchored yachts - an historic rabbit warren of a building - tastefully decorated - fine public areas - an unusually large number of friendly young staff - nicely appointed room with tray of snacks and beverages and very comfy bed.. Minus - car parking problems with hotel basement permanently full of jaguars, high end mercedes and tesla - waiter-served breakfast, your table for which you had to book in advance, or else - some waiters combined friendliness to clients with clearly not being happy bunnies in work - some sloppy service (I felt so sorry for the egg photoed below..) - room not cleaned on time and excuse was the number of visitors leaving! - virtuous notices in bathroom about not throwing towels out for cleaning every day (agree with this) but combined with no hooks for towels and often no consistency in the kinds of new towels left. In other words the experience was a curate's egg and its management seemed under some strain.

Dear Barbara H, Thank you for taking the time to share feedback following your stay with us. It would appear that your experience was mixed, with many positive aspects and a few points which didn’t quite meet your expectations. I’m delighted that you enjoyed our wonderful estuary location, historic charm and appreciated your comfortable, well provisioned room. I am pleased that you found the large majority of our team friendly, however I’m sorry that on occasion you felt that the service was lacking. Your comments have been noted and the feedback will help us improve and enhance the guest experience. I appreciate our free underground parking can be challenging, especially during busy periods. We offer free parking across four areas within the hotel grounds, should any guest experience difficulties our reception team are always on hand to assist. I apologise you experienced a delay in servicing your room. The departure of many guests on the same day can create challenges, stay-over cleans are carried out once departures have been completed. Sorry, this had a negative impact on your stay. Thank you once again for your comments and I hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, Fi, Guest Relations Manager

We had a wonderful few days stay here. It was raining in Falmouth most of the time but we didn't mind staying in the room just looking at the great view of the harbour and the boats. If you choose to stay here, you must absolutely book the best available room and definitely one with a sea view, preferably like ours looking to the southeast, where the rest of Falmouth, the harbour, the pier and the boats are. The staff at reception were very helpful with all kinds of enquiries and assisted us with a taxi booking. They were also very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel (it does have an interesting history). The hotel also has a very convenient same day laundry service which costs just a few pounds for a bag of laundry. Lastly, the hotel has what in our opinion is the best restaurant in Falmouth. We took a lot of our meals there and just regret that we didn't have the time to try out their full range of breakfast and dinner options.

Wonderful one night stay with dinner, drinks and breakfast. The hotel was presented well and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, a real credit to the hotel. I must give Marie and the housekeeping team a special mention, they’re busy working behind the scenes making sure the rooms are clean and ready for guests, to walk into a fantastically clean room is what gets your stay off to a great start. The rooms are finished to a high standard, with a great supply of refreshments, just what you need after a long journey. There is a pub downstairs and a restaurant, both serve food and drinks with a beautiful view of the water and boats, so you don’t even have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to. The food was delicious and we were served by members of staff who again couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy, they were also very accommodating to my 8 month old baby. The standard was the same in the morning for breakfast. As I said before all of the staff are a credit to the hotel but I have to mention Matt, Amir, Jordan and Toby in particular, thanks for a truly lovely experience.

First and foremost the staff. Both the front of house and housekeeping staff were all, without exception, friendly, professional and always willing to please. The hotel itself is well located about 10 minutes walk from the town centre with superb views of Falmouth harbour and Flushing. The reception, bar and restaurant areas are all well laid out, well furnished, bright and airy and immaculately clean. We had a superior room which we couldn't fault and which had the benefit of a bay window which made the most of those views ! Excellent breakfast with a reasonable level of choice. We were only there for the weekend but had dinner once in the restaurant which was also excellent with plenty of choice. There are more expensive hotels in Falmouth which may offer facilities such as a swimming pool and gym but we would find it hard to stay anywhere else when we come back which we most certainly will !

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. We had a harbour facing balcony room and the views were the reason why we booked this hotel. The room itself was large, clean and nicely decorated. I found the bathroom cramped on comparison to other places we stayed but the building is very old and so the hotel is having to work with what it has got. The hotel was a lot bigger than I expected, we had been informed after booking that there was a function with loud music going on, on one of our nights there on the other side of the building however we were not disturbed by any noise at all even when we had the balcony door open. The hotel itself was surprisingly quiet. The hotel is operating on a timed booked breakfast system. We were not informed of this prior to arrival and on check in we were offered either 8am or 09:45am on the Sunday of our stay. 8am on a Sunday when I’m on holiday is simply too early and 09:45am when we have plans and timed tickets for entry to places is simply too late so if like us you have an itinery to stick to I would recommend booking breakfast times before you go. I liked the fact we had bottled water and fresh milk in the in-room fridge which was replenished daily Observations, not criticism. The Shampoo in the room is a 2 in 1 attached to the wall in the shower (none supplied by the bath). I asked at reception if they had any conditioner and was given smaller bottles of the 2 in 1. So if like me you need conditioner take it and don’t rely on that supplied by the hotel.
We had pre booked dinner in the Restaurant one night (there was an offer when booking the hotel to do this) and whilst my hubby was happy with his meal (He had the Fish Grill) I opted for a Lamb main however when it came it was a Pea Risotto with one lamb cutlet on it, whilst nice to eat I felt for the price (I am aware of ever increasing wholesale costs) I had been over sold with the description of it being a Lamb dish. The restaurant / serving staff were all very pleasant and seemed to be trying hard but there were a few mix ups such as food being delivered without cutlery to eat it, incorrect juice orders being delivered at breakfast. If you get a window view it’s a nice location for dinner however I wouldn’t jump up and down an insist you book up to eat here if staying, there are lots of options in the town within close proximity.

Dear Boho1979, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay, I’m delighted that The Greenbank provided exactly the break you were hoping for. I’m pleased you found your well-appointed room, both spacious and clean and were able to relax in the peace and quiet of your surroundings. Thank you for your approval of the provision of fresh milk and bottled water. We do favour a preferred breakfast time slot for guests, we find this results a smoother service and reduces wait times. This is recommended in the pre-arrival email; I apologise if this email wasn’t received. I hope a compromise was offered, as we can be flexible in this area. Thank you for your feedback on your evening meal, our brigade of chefs prides themselves on their quality and consistency. Your feedback will help us to improve, enhance and grow stronger. We do have several new members of the restaurant team; I have liaised with our restaurant manager and discussed your feedback. Retraining and refocus will be provided accordingly, I am confident with that with guidance and nurturing, the team will be strong and knowledgeable very soon. However, I’m thrilled that despite their inexperience the team were all very pleasant and keen to help. Thank you once again for your review, we hope to see you again in the future and thank you for choosing to stay with us. Kind regards, Fi Guest Relations Manager

The Greenbank is a hotel we’ve wanted to stay at for a long time, having looked longingly from harbour ferry crossings. My Wife and I booked for three nights, all inclusive,in a harbour view room, hopefully with a balcony. We arrived a couple of hours early and parked right outside in a bay by the front doors and we were warmly welcomed at reception and told our room was ready. A delightful member of staff( they’re all delightful!) showed us to our room and helped with our luggage: well, what a room, it was immaculate and large with a lovely bathroom and a balcony! After we’d settled in we went down to the bar and sat out on the terrace in the sunshine with a drink and just watched the water world go by. The hotel has its own jetty and pontoons where you can enjoy a view up and down the harbour.
Our evening meals were all delicious, with a really good choice and served by a friendly and helpful waiting team. Our breakfasts were also first class, with an excellent choice.
If you don’t have a need to go out and about there is always plenty to look at from the hotel and there are daytime snacks and lunches to keep you going. All in all we had a fabulous stay and we look forward to returning.-

We were greeted by friendly reception staff who were very helpful. Our room was perfect a huge bed which was very comfortable. The room itself was perfectly clean and had lovely touches such as home made shortbread and teas and coffees. The bathroom was a good size with fluffy towels and nice toiletries, also there were bathrobes and slippers.
The bar offered a good range of drinks and on the Friday offers 2 for 1 cocktails which were very nice. The bar staff were very attentive and had a good knowledge not only about the drinks but the local area.
Breakfast was good. There is a good choice avalilable and cooked to order It's very relaxing sat in the restaurant looking at the water.
The Hotel also has its own pub Great atmosphere and has outside seats.
The Hotel it's self is quaint and full of charm whilst being contemporary and elegant at the same time.
What makes the stay is the attitude of the staff ... each and everyone Nothing is too much trouble and there are smiles all round. First class service with out being stuffy
I can't wait to visit again
