We arrived in Looe and after checking-in, visited the nearest hostelry. The Jolly Sailor is full of character with the property oozing artefacts and an air of real history. This one is a must if you are in the area.

We spent 3 nights at the Jolly Sailor Inn on a bed and breakfast basis. Very comfortable, clean and pleasant room , overlooking Princes Square. The bathroom/ shower was very clean and upgraded . The breakfast was excellent with choices of meals. The owners were charming and had a lot of local tales to tell. The location in West Looe...

Popped in during LooeFest after watching the Pirates singing troupe who were fantastic. They also looked very at home in The Jolly Sailor! Great old pub and friendly landlord. Got chatting to one of the locals which was very interesting.

Stayed in the Jolly Sailor recently. We were attracted by the old Cornish inn 'thing' so to be truthful, we really should have expected what we got. But just because the establishment is 500 years old does not mean there shouldn't be any time, effort and expenditure on the individual guest rooms! Especially at these prices. Stopped here just for drinks once on this trip, but it's a really nice 16th century pub, a good atmosphere, with a low ceiling, wooden beams and pictures on the walls. They do serve food, although we have not had the opportunity to eat here.

Love the quirkiness of this place, the locals, the staff, the breakfast, the location, the room. All absolutely great. Will definitely return. The only downside was the seagul noise from the roof of the fire station opposite - but the pub cant do anything about that!!! Upon our return I didn't miss the 0445hrs wake up call!!!!

We just popped in for a nightcap. This being the 'oldest pub in Looe' was filled with ancient quirkiness and old aged atmosphere. We sat amongst the locals singing Sea Shanties.....you just can't get more authentic than that..... fabulous night!
