Just back from a weeks stay at the Sands resort. The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Although it's a big hotel, we didnt feel like just another resident. There was still the personal touch. We had a couple of problems with the room which were rectified within half an hour of us reporting them to reception. Our room and the hotel were spotless and staff were constantly cleaning the public areas. I'm disabled so stayed in the accessible room. Very spacious and a great wet room. Just a few bits of advice - the shower chair is very uncomfortable. I'm glad I took my own! The doors could do with being a little wider. Finally, please provide more information about the accessible room on the website, eg, exactly what's in the bathroom, parking etc.. Certain chain hotels claim to have accessible rooms but the bathrooms are certainly not accessible to me, so its important to know exactly what you are going to.

The staff was amazing as well as the food. The rooms were a little tired and in need of updating. We were unable to have any spa treatments as it was fully booked on arrival which was disappointing. We were told it was because of COVID and only one person on duty but as a spa hotel it would have been nice to do something

What an awesome hotel! Stayed here for 4 nights in late September/early October. Obviously the weather was hit and miss but the hotel itself is incredible in terms of the great sea views from our room which was a great size, really nice grounds with plenty of outdoor activities (more for summer I guess) like tennis, football, basketball, super nice swimming pool (which thanks to covid restrictions we actually shared with max 1 other family!), and great free parking. They also had a small games room with table tennis and air hockey which we didn't get round to using. Booked massages for me and my wife; ideally we wanted at the same time but was 1 after the other - no big deal. After that we went in their beautiful Moroccan spa with a hot tub, lounge area and sauna all to ourselves - also complimentary which was a lovely surprise. Staff really nice and helpful as well. Location wise brilliant. Only a 10 min-ish drive into town but this was all good as Newquay has free parking after 4 in lots of car parks so we would spend the day out and about or using hotel facilities and head into town for the evening. The Porth beach about 7 min walk down was incredible with super nice sand; and the walk the other way down to Watergate Bay was also awesome (although we got caught in a bit of a wind and rain storm!). Only minor points was that breakfast could have been a bit more varied (but was more than sufficient) and also I mentioned at booking that it was for my wife's birthday and we didn't receive anything to commemorate this even though I was told the hotel would leave a birthday card in the room (luckily I'd already bought my own to give her on the day ha!). Overall, 100% recommend this place and we will probably stay again if we hit Newquay again. Thanks so much!

Stayed for our 2nd year in a row with our 20month old, we paid to upgrade our room from a country view suite to a sea view and its worth every penny of the upgrade as the child's room has a door so once they're in bed parents can relax and enjoy the evening without waking up the sleeping toddlebot. The sea view we had was amazing and it was lovely to be able to watch the sun go down. The indoor pool is still on a booking only basis due to covid, but we got every slot that we wanted and it meant that the pool was never busy, cleaning was done on all tables between guests and mask wearing is still encouraged indoors so it all feels really safe. Food is slightly pricy but it was all really good, and the fact the hotel caters to small children means you don't need to worry too much about toddlers toddlering in the dining rooms as everyone is in the same boat so no one complains if there's a bit of crankiness or boisterousness from the small people. Soft play and the hotel maze were a hit with our little one along with the mini inside fairground, and mummy and daddy both took advantage of the spa on site. We also took park in some of the crafts that they offer....unfortunately one of our crafts didn't survive the kiln too well but this was knocked off our bill and is still a cute memento of our time there. We will absolutely be back next year

We liked the position of this hotel ( last one on the way out of Newquay towards Watergate bay) as it was out of the way of the hustle and bustle of town and had great views across Porth bay with amazing sunsets. The amenities they had were perfect for children, the staff were all friendly and helpful and lots of free parking available. The food, both at breakfast and especially for the evening meal was delicious. Indoor and outdoor pools were a nice option and there is a spa offering treatments, although it would seem that all appointments are booked back to back with no time in between to prep, meaning my £46 30 minute massage only actually ended up being 21 mins… yes, I timed it precisely! Anyway, that aside, an enjoyable 4 night stay in a generously size room with great views. Enjoy!
