As someone commented on another review, this is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Ally and Mike are extremely knowledgeable and had lots of great recommendations about things to see and do. The rooms and home are lovely and the breakfast was great. We were able to park on the street nearby.

What an amazing little gem! Stunning property in a perfect spot, both evenings we stayed we didn’t drive as it was so close to the restaurants we had booked, which is so important, as the parking in Penzance is a little limited. The owners were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, lovely friendly family. Even in these odd times we felt very well looked after. The house was spotless, not one thing was missed, which is so important as I usually take my own dettol and wipe surfaces but not at Holbein House! Amazing! Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

Holbein House is in a great location, within walking distance from the rail station, promenade and centre of town. It stands out among the other B&Bs in the street as its signage is discreet and stylish. Great communication from hosts explaining the self check in process for late arrival - worked like a charm. The room was airy (beautiful large windows), and large beautiful high ceilings. Very comfortable bed and a brilliant shower. Loved the guest book explaining everything and also the handy tips for restaurants and pubs (very helpful on a quiet Monday night). The breakfast room was beautiful and the table laid beautifully with care - it felt like such a treat in the morning. Lots of choice and quality in terms of cereal, yoghurt and fruit (and even banana bread and brownies), and then followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice (gorgeous scrambled eggs). Delicious coffee. The hosts were hospitable and friendly and added to the great atmosphere in this beautiful B&B. They care about what they do and it shows.

Ros and myself stayed for 2 nights for a short break, plenty of on road parking in either Alexandra Rd or Trewithen Rd. Ally and Mike and their dog Elvis made us feel welcome and were great throughout our stay, the double room was very clean and fresh, with great "in room" tea/coffee facilities and a very comfortable bed. We loved the breakfast room and the sharing of a communal dining led to some good conversations with the other guests over breakfast, plenty of choice of food and refreshments and also a splendid cooked breakfast. Loved our stay and will be back

Nestled on the corner of the street, hidden by a hedge, we found the perfect place to explore Cornwall and have a lovely time of relaxation. The B & B was tastefully decorated, with a mixture of period and modern, and very comfortable and very clean. The owners were so helpful and very welcoming. They went above and beyond in making our stay very enjoyable - from recommending places to see and places to eat to baking some wonderful banana bread and warm pastries in the morning. Even on the day of our departure they helped bring our luggage outside and helped load it into the car. Amazing couple with an amazing B & B. Don't forget to acquaint yourself with the famous Elvis and enjoy a wonderful stay in Penzance just 10 minutes from the town and promenade.

One of the best B&B's we've stayed in. Ali and Mike are great hosts and so friendly. Holbein House is extremely well appointed with great facilities. Everything is good quality and the attention to detail is impressive. The breakfast is outstanding ( especially the home made banana bread ) and the location is an easy walk for the Scillonian ferry and the train station. We booked one night before travelling to the Isles of Scilly and one night for the return which was no problem to them.
Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Penzance.

From the minute of arriving till
The end of our stay we were so looked after by our hosts Mike and Ally. Very accommodating. The house had a lovely fresh smell and was very aired throughout. We had the twin room which was at the top of the house. Very spacious with great size en-suite bathroom. Kettle and hairdryer also available. Even comfy mattresses. Helps a good nights sleep!! The dining room very cosy and the long dining table makes it friendly and easy to chat to other guests. Plenty of choice to eat from fruit cereals cheese meats. Also fresh banana bread, granary and crossiants. Then if that’s not enough you can ask for hot food. Poached eggs etc. If you stay on a weekend they also offer you a full English breakfast too. If you like your teas or coffees then full choice as well.
The location is only a five minute walk to the promenade and local restaurants. Our hosts even booked a couple of places to eat in the evenings and they didn’t disappoint.
Mike and Ally very knowledgeable of the area and nothing is too much trouble.
We visited st. Michaels mount, minack theatre, lands end, Sennen, cape Cornwall, Moushole and mevagissy. Bring your National Trust cards as so much to see and do.
thank you Mike and ally for our stay. If only All B & B’s can be like yours.

The best B&B I have stayed in. Has everything you could want, and it is very evident how much thought and passion has been put into providing a really comfortable stay.
A warm welcome from Mike on arrival and facilities explained and met Elvis, the most impeccably behaved golden retriever you could imagine.
Bright, airy room, with plenty of space, sockets and storage. Full length mirror and tea and coffee making facilities.
Well proportioned bathroom with the most fantastic water pressure in the shower, and complimentary toiletries. Al absolutely spotlessly clean, and thought given to surfaces for own toiletries and space to do makeup and hair etc.
Fabulous breakfast in the beautiful dining room where again Mike was a great, attentive host. Choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and breads, including fresh homemade banana bread.
Full English breakfast was spot on, with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. All cooked by Ali who popped in for a chat afterwards.
Such an engaging, friendly couple who obviously love what they do, and it shows.
If you want a really comfortable, quality stay up a quiet side street in the middle of this charming seaside town then I can't recommend it highly enough.More

Ally and Mike have made Holbein house a place to stay that you won’t forget.
Our room number 3 was stylish ,comfortable ,warm and immaculately kept. The whole house has a charm the dining room is beautiful .

The breakfast was very well prepared catering for all with fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals, and amazing cooked breakfasts using local quality produce.

We were made to feel very at home and welcome and you could tell that our hosts take a pride in providing an excellent place to stay. We will be returning next time we visit Penzance.

This is a superb place to stay in wonderful Penzance Cornwall. We spent 8 nights at Holbein House. From the very beginning we were impressed by the style, comfort and facilities at Holbein House. The proprietors combine a high level of professionalism with a warmth and friendliness. The breakfasts are amazing with a very wide range of continental offerings and the huge, scrumptious cooked breakfasts are fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay with Mike, Ally and the lovable Elvis - the resident friendly and docile dog. We so loved this stay, we shall return later in the year. Having travelled fairly extensively, this B&B rates as outstanding. We can unconditionally recommend this comfortable, friendly B&B - the standard of service, care and commitment by the owners makes it a very special stay indeed.
