We booked into the coach and horses for dinner during our stay at Praa Sands, it was a short walk (15mins) and did come with a number of good reviews on TA. The last 5 minutes of the walk is through a country lane which takes you to the rear campsite entrance, all works perfectly, Elaine even offered us the loan of a torch for our walk home, thanks again.
A really warm welcome from Ian and Elaine, great staff, a clean well decorated restaurant and clearly following Covid guidelines.
We had a great first meal, both choosing different fish options, excellent choices, well cooked and tasty. Desserts were fab too, highly recommend their cheesecake.
We enjoyed it so much we returned for a second visit a few days later, once again good food and a warm welcome.
We’d definitely recommend the coach and horses and wish Elaine and Ian all the very best. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! 😊

What and absolute pleasure! Elaine and Ian were the most fantastic hosts for our stay in this lovely 17th century coaching inn. The room we had was well appointed cosy and comfortable. What look to be new fixtures and fittings - the shower was heavenly with a large rainforest type head and and invigorating hand held too.
Breakfast (a full English of course) was fantastic with Elaine’s now famous “Ethel” eggs.
The pub is friendly and welcoming, a lovely atmosphere with a good selection of ale, cider, wines and spirits. We’ll certainly be coming again! Thanks!

Stayed the night having returned from Scilly islands due to bad weather and gales.
Ian the Landlord and his wife (sorry did not catch her name) along with their team were most welcoming. We had the best meal of the week by far at this pub, followed by a lovely full English in the morning. Bed and room were very nice and we had a great night's sleep. If I had to find fault, I could have done with a couple more pillows. However it was all short notice and they rushed to get a room ready for us, having only booked in at 8.45pm.
Welcome great.
Staff and landlord great.
Food excellent having paid more for mediocre food in three restaurants in the Scilly isles we were very happy.
When we do a return visit to the Scilly Isle will stay there the night before and before returning home.
Thanks to all

From a perfectionist: the Easter Sunday roast was faultless…Homemade Yorkshire pudding’s, lashings of gravy, perfectly cooked turkey and pork belly at reasonable prices. I don’t think we’ve had a better Sunday roast in any pub/restaurant. The restaurant was busy yet quality was not compromised, which I’ve found in other places…And bread and butter pudding with custard: my favourite! :) Thank you!

Super efficient first contact by email, very helpful in answering my queries. We arrived to a friendly welcome (including our dog!) and room was clean and comfortable. As we were visiting friends we didn't eat there in the evening but we tucked into a delicious and plentiful breakfast the following morning. Lovely walks in the surrounding area too. Thank you, Elaine and Ian, for being great hosts during our enjoyable stay.

I don’t know how they do it, but the Coach and Horses manages to combine a quaint and charming environment with modern day comforts. Spotlessly clean, delicious food and a relaxing pub environment.

We went for a 3 night stay over Christmas and we are so glad we did. The Wi-Fi was seamless, there was a hairdryer in the room, a full length mirror and a good selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were warm and cosy. They thought of everything, there was Cornish bottled water, some lovely toiletries, ample clean white towels and an excellent rainshower.

We spent the evenings in front of the roaring fire in the pub, and the landlord and landlady were friendly and made us extremely welcome. This pub is truly a hidden treasure, it’s full of history, but sympathetically modernised so its charm is retained.

We had the Christmas menu on Christmas Day and the food was delicious. The portions were large and everything was fresh, it was the best Christmas meal I’ve ever had… I swear the homemade roast potatoes were cooked by a god… our sincere thanks to everyone at the Coach and Horses for making our Christmas so special for us all xxx

We stayed one night here before flying to the Isles of Scilly and it was a delight. The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing was to much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed a tasty dinner and a few drinks in a great atmosphere. Breakfast was also delicious the next day. We would have no problem recommending the B and B which was great value. In addition make the most of the friendly and good value pub and dining as well. A great find! Many thanks to our hosts and lovely staff.

Called in on the way back from Penzance to get a drink and something to eat. The owners and staff are lovely and the food we ate was wonderful. I had a vegetable curry that was better than many that I’ve had in Indian restaurants. The rice was cooked to perfection and a lovely fresh poppadom with a gorgeous dip. My husband chose a fish pie which he said was beautiful. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

I found The coach and horses on trip advisor and it was local to where we were staying at time. We popped in for a quick meal. The bar and restaurant was nicely decorated and light. The food was cooked lovely and very tasty and the lady who served us was really nice too! If we come again maybe we will stay with you instead! Thank you to our waitress & chef (who’s names i don’t know) x

Me and my partner were walking the coastal path and stayed here for 1 night B&B over the August bank holiday. Despite the pub being really busy, the landlord and landlady were incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Great dinner and breakfast too. I'd happily stay here again.
