I was looking forward to staying in this quirky hotel but it was disappointing. Our room smelt a little funky, perhaps damp, not sure. The room was very small, had a caravan feel. The bed was only a double and uncomfortable. The breakfast was pathetic. I ordered poached egg on avocado toast and it was exactly that on one small...

Pleasant room. Nice central location for a walking tour of Penzance. This is a small chain of hotels and is not an owner/occupier. Although the staff were pleasant I thought it was overpriced. Two things in particular stood out. On going up to our room in the evening at about 9o'clock a messy plate of chicken bones was just outside...

We stayed here with our dog and a group who booked the cottage. Our room was on the ground floor. It was beautifully decorated and nice little touches like fresh milk in the mini bar and treats for the dog. We had an absolutely delicious dinner...we would recommend the beer can chicken and the sea bass. Breakfast was also delicious...

As always there are pro's and con's in any hotel. Let's start with the con's. I know shabby chic is all the rage these days but I think it is just an excuse to leave paint work unfinished and to buy cheap and tatty fixtures and fittings. We had a luxury room. Only one chair so we couldn't really be...

Stayed here with our dog, all made very welcome. Superb room, very clean, comfortable bed, great decor. Well furnished and well equipped. Excellent breakfast available at 730 am. 5 minute walk down to the harbour to catch boat to Scilly's. Would stay again and definitely recommend. Eat in the Cornish Barn which is in the hotel.

Super smooth check in by a very friendly bar man. The room was very comfortable with loads of lovely little touches (I had one of the smallest rooms). Great bathroom, breakfast and bar. Could not fault it and will be staying again. The location is slap bang in the middle of town.

Good food friendly efficient staff. Rooms well decorated with some nice touches e.g. bath products. Rooms small and one particularly hot. Will need to be addressed before the summer comes. Great stop off before a trip to the Scilly isles.

Two of us stayed at the place, on our way to visit the Isles of Scilly. We found the place quirky and nicely decorated. Our room was very clean, with interesting touches and felt quite inviting. However, the room was small, with limited space for clothes and suitcases. It's OK for a short stay. The breakfast was fine. The staff...

After staying at AR Brighton several times, we had high expectations of the Penzance hotel. Although nicely decorated, our room was quite dark with a large window immediately adjacent to a busy alleyway used by staff. The actual opening part of the window was very small which meant that ventilation was poor, too. We also had to walk through the...

We stayed at the Artists Residence London after our wedding and loved it so decided to visit Artists Residence Penzance for our first year anniversary and it did not disappoint! Beautiful rooms that feel cosy yet chic, staff incredibly helpful and friendly but not at all invasive. The outdoor area was lovely and we had a drink out there in...
