Detailed Reviews
Treventon is a perfect place to stay. Our room (Mousehole) was very spacious, spotless and quiet. The building itself looks amazing! 15- 20 min walking from bus/train station, 2 min from promenade. Everything is perfectly organized by the Owner, who is very hard working and friendly person. Breakfast is simple, self service bufe style with mainly sweet options (if I can suggest sth- I would love to see more savory options- herb bread spread would do for me!), but it's not a deal breaker. I hope to be back and recommend the place to everyone! Thank you! Jarmila/Adriana

We stayed at Treventon Guest House in October 2020 for 2 nights. Firstly, the house is well located with most of this part of Cornwall close by. Lands End, Sennen Cove, St Ives, Marazion and the Minac Theatre are all close-by. The next town along the coast, Newlyn, is less than a mile walk away. The house itself is impressive with large comfortable rooms. Bernard is an excellent host who gave welcome practical local advice regarding daytrips, routes and places of interest. The breakfast was very good and included freshly baked croissants and expertly cooked soft boiled eggs. The use of the breakfast room all day was useful too. The coffee machine also delivered quality tasting coffee. I would recommend this guest house as a base for visitors to this part of Cornwall. We stayed in the Sennen room with our 2 young daughters.

Our room was lovely and the bed was comfy. The guest house was in a good location, close to the town and easy to access the surrounding areas such as lands end and porthcurno. Breakfast had lots of items on offer, which were constantly replenished. The host Bernard was so welcoming and friendly. He was very attentive and full of information. We had taken paddle boards and he advised us on a good place to go, also he let us borrow a screwdriver for the paddles as we had forgotten to bring one. Nothing was ever too much for him. A very enjoyable stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We were warmly greeted by the host on arrival and taken through the very sensible procedures in place here to ensure our and others' safety. None of these affected our comfort or well-being in any way. Our bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and we had a comfortable night's sleep. Tea and good coffee is always available downstairs in the dining room. We were provided with an early breakfast (diners eat according to a staggered timetable to prevent families mixing), in order to catch an early sailing. We would definitely stay here again, Thank you!

Highly recommend family room B&B on the second floor, king size bed plus one single for our 2y old son. Beautiful house in Victorian style. Bernard was very helpful, involved in our needs, anything we asked was never a problem. Delicious coffee provided. We loved the room. House located 2min walk to the sea in great location near shops and restaurants. Car park just by the house in very nice and quiet areas, worth it staying and would recommend to friends . thank you

Information about access to the B&B was very clear and worked well. The premises were airy, bright, well decorated and very clean. Our room was on the second floor which involved a steep second flight of stairs with a good handrail. The room was a good size, with 2 very comfortable beds, a spotless en suite with a good shower, lots of hanging and drawer space and 2 armchairs. We had a good night’s sleep (rarely the case on a first night); the room was quite quiet given that it faced onto a quite busy route - perhaps because it was on the second floor.
The breakfast room was very comfortable and well appointed with drinks facilities, cutlery, etc which could be used by residents at other times of the day for take away meals. The breakfast was an excellent continental breakfast with a choice of juices, cereals, plain yogurt and fresh berry fruits. Also available was possibly the best croissant I’ve had in the UK, toast, spreads and a good range of both teas and coffees (available all day).
The host, Bernard, had gone out of his way to make the accommodation comfortable and welcoming. He was most helpful when it came to helping with the coffee machine and anything else where his insight was needed - a most obliging and thoughtful host. If and when we need to return to this area we will have no hesitation in returning.
The premises would not be suitable for people with mobility issues; there are no rooms on the ground floor and there is no lift but otherwise, difficult to fault at this price bracket.

Our room (Marazion) was very clean and comfortable with a good shower in the en-suite. Breakfast was nice with a good variety of options - croissants, toast, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, juice and coffee. It was great to have access to the dining room throughout the day to get excellent coffee from the machine and use plates, cutlery - we bought a light tea/supper from the supermarket a short walk away and enjoyed eating it in the dining room. It was easy to find parking on the street outside. Bernard, the host, was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again if I return to Penzance. Highly recommended.

Bernard is the manager of this place and as soon as you book you get beautiful and simple instructions about location, entry, location of your room and keys. Once in our room it had high ceilings, beautiful furniture and space - so much space. Wonderfully clean and decorated and then there comes breakfast. Just a continental one, but so much food on offer, with fresh fruit, croissants (heated) and an absolute variety of teas and coffee machine for the coffee fiends. Well done Bernard and Treventon. We have been travelling around Scotland and England from Australia for 5 weeks now and have stayed at some amazing places but Treventon rates right at the top for its price, professionalism, cleanliness and charm.

Stayed in a lovely big room for a week in early June. The host Bernard was very helpful and chatty. The location was midway between Penzance town centre and Newlyn and just a couple of minutes from the Promenade. Continental breakfast included and you could use the dining room to eat takeaways which due to current issues with staffing in restaurants and covid restrictions we had to make use of a couple of times. Would definitely stay again.

We loved this B&B - it’s a beautiful character building, renovated really tastefully. Our room was huge and all the details were covered off to make it a comfortable stay.
We liked the self-checkin since it took the pressure off arriving at a certain time. Small suggestion, that a board in the foyer with rooms and names would make it even simpler.
Lovely continental breakfast in the bright, light dining room. Bernard is running a top place!
