Detailed Reviews
What a fantastic hotel!
I was down in Penzance for the rugby and had left it late to book a room and had found some of the recommended hotels, bigger and more expensive, were already full. It was chance that I happened to come across Blue Seas but I'm so glad I did.
It's one of a number of small hotels that would have been large family residences I guess, back in the day, but it has been lovingly turned into a very modern and well designed hotel just off the promenade.
I stayed in a ground floor room that was immaculate, with a spacious bedroom and a lovely ensuite which was well stocked with the usual lotions and potions. The shower was lovely and hot (although it had a cooler option and was digital so you could see the temperature), and a wall radiator ensured I was oblivious to the Winter cold outside.
The sink is in the main room, but that worked well, and all the furnishings are modern. Even the wall art looked local and was interesting and I'd gladly have had one of the pictures on my wall at home.
A comfy bed made for a goodnight's sleep, as did the homemade fudge and homemade cakes that were there when I arrived - nice touches that were very much appreciated.
Breakfast was impressive...although I made a faux pas. There was a lovely continental style spread which I gorged myself on, including fruit, cheeses, cereals, breads and so on, only to find there was also a cooked option.
A full English after a couple of croissants and some fruit wasn't going to do me any favours but those who did opt for both certainly enjoyed a generous plate of bacon, eggs, sausages and so on.
The couple who own the hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful and for just ÂŁ63 all in (including a discount for those watching the Pirates game), it was excellent value.
I'm not one to write reviews normally, but Blues Seas Hotel deserve to be widely promoted.
The turned a good weekend into a great one.
Thank you

Where to start? Hosts…… perfect. Fiona and Arnaud’s welcome, friendliness and warmth, along with their extensive local knowledge, is hard to match. This was our second visit to Blue Seas, but our first experience of life outside the home environment since lockdown and we have no hesitation in saying we felt completely at ease and safe. The cleanliness of not just our room, but also the communal and high touch areas – all faultless. Social distancing encouraged and observed; masks worn when appropriate and hand sanitisers available in the high use areas.
The breakfasts deserve their own dedicated paragraph. Fiona’s attention to detail in customers’ preferences and needs was spot on – her energy boundless! Arnaud’s skill in the kitchen, using fresh and local ingredients with provenance, was exceptional. The breakfasts fuelled us for the day and we can also vouch for the homemade lunches available. Parfait Monsieur!
Overall, another 10/10 visit and we will return! Thank you both ..again

Just back from another lovely holiday at the superb Blue Seas. Fiona and Arnaud were as welcoming, friendly and helpful as ever and have adapted to the present Covid measures wonderfully. The bedroom was absolutely spotless and comfortable and as always, with Arnaud's home made biscuits a daily treat. The breakfasts are fantastic, although the ever energetic and suitably masked Fiona did have to do more to-ing & fro-ing as a few of the usual self-service buffet items had to be delivered from the kitchen for safety reasons. However, everything was still on the huge menu and tables were the required distance apart. Another plus, Blue Seas is very environmentally friendly in every way. You would hardly have known we were still in the middle of a pandemic and it was a great apres lockdown stay. Have no Covid fears about staying at Blue Seas, you will be in perfectly safe hands. Looking forward to next year for our 11th, or is it the 12th, stay !.

I know this is saying a lot but it is hard to overstate just how excellent this guesthouse run by Fiona Arnaud is. We choose it because of the incredible reviews we read on Tripadvsor and it turned out they were all justifed. A warm welcome awaits in a place full of charm and distinctiveness in a location metres from the promenade and within short walking distance of a range of very good eating places. The place is spotless and there is an outstanding attention to detail. Arnaud's breakfasts in terms of choice and quality beat anything I have eaten in deluxe hotels. The best scrambled egg and smoked salmon I've ever eaten ... and I am 69! The best porridge, hot pancakes, and haddock you would die for. The quality of the traeditional English breakfast a given. Fiona made sure that our individually furnished room at the front of the house overlooking an enchanting garden was freshly made up each of the 10 days we stayed. And she has an encylopaedic knowledge of all the local attractions and made sure our arrangements to visit the Isles of Scilly were in order. We werev blessed with good weather but I have a feeling Fiona and Arnaud are excellent hostsv rain or shine. We' would love to return.,

We wish we could have stayed longer in blue seas where the room was immaculate, the hosts were warm and friendly, and the attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. These details included: locally made complimentary toiletries, hearing the hand whisking of the Hollandaise sauce the moment you order eggs Benedict at breakfast, the recycling in the room. I was particularly grateful for the encouragement I received there for our next stage of the coastal path, the care taken to orientate us in the town, and the calm, clean, coziness of the whole hotel! 10/10

Arnaud and Fiona were gracious hosts who provided the most sumptuous breakfast ever during our two and a half week trip thru southern England. The Godrevy room was spacious with a sea view from the window seat. The sink with built in vanity was in a corner of the room next to the shower/toilet room. The rooms were well insulated and the downstairs breakfast room was well lit and looked out over the beautifully landscaped front garden. We highly recommend the Blue Seas Hotel in Penzance.

My husband and I loved every minute of our four nights in the "Wolf Rock" room at The Blue Seas in Penzance. Fiona and Arnaud have thought of every details to make their guests comfortable and make them feel right at home, even including freshly baked biscuits each evening in our room (which were much appreciated after long days exploring the stunningly beautiful Penwith peninsula. Fiona and Arnaud run a very tight (and gracious) ship! Fiona was a font of advice and local knowledge about where to eat, hiking, shopping, transportation, etc. Arnauds' breakfasts were every bit as delicious as we anticipated (with homemade yogurt, granola, and pastries as well as a full range of hot breakfast options). Our room was spotlessly clean, efficiently organized, charmingly decorated, and altogether comfortable. We didn't have a sea view. But that was fine by us. Instead we had a lovely view of the small back garden. The whole inn, including the front yard with sea views, and comfortable lounge filled with maps and travel books, was perfectly designed to keep a tourist in Cornwall happily engaged. Although I believe the Blue Seas was fully booked during our stay, it was very quiet. And I had my best sleep there I had on our entire two week trip to England. The other guests added a lot to the experience and we enjoyed chatting with them at breakfast and learning their plans for the day and their tips for touring in Cornwall. The location of the Blue Seas is perfect -- right across from the promenade along the sea, steps from town, and a short walk to the train and bus stations. We can't wait to return to the Blue Seas and Cornwall.

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Seas Hotel in August as part of a multi-stop tour of England. Our stay at the Blue Seas was outstanding and by far the best hotel we visited on our trip. Our welcome to the hotel by Fiona and Arnaud was so warm and inviting. Everything at Blue Seas is so thoughtful and it’s clear a lot of care goes into the running of the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding and we felt very safe as our first trip away post COVID. We looked forward to breakfast each morning as everything was absolutely delicious and we looked forward to chatting to Fiona about our day and asking her for recommendations. Arnaud’s breakfasts are the best we have ever had in a hotel - especially the pancakes! It was my wife’s birthday during our stay and the special touches that were put in place for her were really lovely. Fiona and Arnaud arranged for her to have cream tea in the lounge which was a real treat. Fiona also recommended an amazing spa which we went to for the afternoon and dinner - St Michaels Resort. This was a perfect trip and we can’t wait to return. Thank you so much Fiona & Arnaud for such a fabulous stay.

The standard of the Blue Seas Hotel is very high in every aspect. The owners, Arnaud and Fiona are very hospitable and happy to share their knowledge of the area with you. The hotel is in a very central position, amazing views from most rooms and an ideal place to explore Penzance and the surrounding areas, having on site parking is such a bonus. The quality and choice of breakfast is top quality, most ingredients are locally sourced and fish straight from the local catch, all absolutely delicious, such fine dining, I don't think you would get a better breakfast anywhere in Cornwall.
My visit to the hotel was the first week of the lock down restrictions being lifted, I felt safe and comfortable that all processes were in place to safeguard guests and staff.

This hotel is ideally located a leisurely 15 minutes walk from the railway station and even less from the ferry port. We were given a better room on arrival, which was a nice touch. The owners were really helpful and know absolutely everything about the area, which was very helpful when asking for places to eat, or where to visit. Breakfast was very good - particularly the cheese omelette!
The room itself was clean and large, although the sink was in the main room which was a bit strange at first. They also provided us with free chocolate and biscuits, both of which I think they make themselves. Make sure you eat them daily as it increases the chances of them being replaced!
