This is bed and breakfast on a different level. Firstly Hazel and Russell are extraordinary hosts, friendly professional and absolutely meticulous in their stringency and safeguarding against covid 19. Nothing is left to chance and their methodology is totally scrupulous without being in any way intrusive. We are somewhat obsessive in terms of cleanliness ourselves, but I can truthfully say that we have never been in any accommodation that is as spotlessly clean as the Pendennis is. The rooms are beautiful and are immaculately decorated in keeping with the stunning period property. Facilities and amenities in the room are second to none with a well stocked tea tray and even posh biscuits as well as access to an ironing board and top rate hairdryer. Spotlessly clean and soft towels make your stay even more comfortable as does the beautiful bed and luxury bed linen. Breakfast is again in a different league to most establishments and is easily on a par with some of the best hotels we have ever stayed in all over the world. Breakfast is left outside of your room at exactly the time requested with a gentle knock on the door and is ordered the previous evening by printed form. The choice is superb and the quality of ingredients is fantastic. Whilst observing a safe distance and abstaining from entering rooms at all during your stay, Hazel and Russell are always on hand by telephone for any queries and go way above and beyond with useful, helpful tips and local knowledge that again enhances your stay and allows you to maximize your time in Cornwall. It was an absolute joy to stay at The Pendennis and we would not hesitate to return or indeed to visit any establishment that Hazel and Russell are involved in. Thank you both for absolute excellence and for such a wonderful experience !!!! Paul and Lesley-anne Burnham x

Stayed here for a long weekend in November. Sarah and Richard were friendly and attentive while allowing us our own space. The room was comfortable and cosy- good range of tea making facilities and fresh milk. Bathroom has some dark coloured towels for use with removing makeup which I thought was a great idea and wish more hotels did this. The breakfast room can be used for if you have a takeaway which is a good touch. Breakfast is fantastic, and probably the best thing about here. We recommend the pancakes. As for location you are 2 mins from the sea, 5 mins from local shops and about 20 mins from train station.

We spent a few days in Pendennis Guest House and it was excellent. The room was big, clean and provided with all facilities needed, including a fan. During these unfortunate days of the pandemic, breakfast was served in the rooms and there was almost no contact with other guests and landlords. Instructions are clear and the use of email and text a reliable way of contacting Russell and Hazel. Parking was very easy off the street, plenty of it counting that it was August and all the B&Bs were full in the same street. Short walk to the sea front and nearby amenities, well place to visit further down into Cornwall. We will come back.

What a great place! Sarah and Richard are very friendly and charming owners. The Guest House is located on an elegant street a short walk from Penlee Gardens and Museum, you can park on the street and we always found a space available.

Richard is an excellent chef and personally cooks all the breakfasts himself, with an extensive range of choice to cater for all tastes, and all beautifully cooked. The room and communal areas were very clean and our room was attended to and refreshed every day when we were out. They have a good Covid safety policy that minimises contact as much as possible. All around a great place to stay and we would definitely come back.

We have just returned after a weeks stay in Penzance. We arrived on the street where free parking is avaliable and there were no issues obtaining a spot. We arrived early so went to explore the Town.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by Richard and shown to our room which was on the 3rd floor. The room was very big and had plenty of room. The room is room 8 and is normally a twin room but was converted into a super king for the duration of our stay which was greatly appreciated.

We appreciated the small touches like fresh milk in the room with biscuits and proper tea bags, Yorkshire Gold as well.

We can say breakfast is outstanding, anything from the full English breakfast with vegan and vegetarian options. Avocado and haloomi cheese on some breakfast choices. For me this is a first I have seen this in a B&B. Full selection of cereals and pancakes, I could go on.

Sarah and Richard have an excellent product in a great location. We would have no hesitation in staying here again if we were to return to Penzance.

Sadly only an overnight stay. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. A small fridge was provided together with water and fresh milk for tea and coffee.
The breakfast menu is excellent … it was difficult to make a final choice! The cooked breakfasts were the best we have ever had in a B&B. Would happily stay again for a longer holiday.

If your looking for a guest house that offers you a five star service then look no further. From the moment you arrive Richard and Sarah make you feel very welcome. We spent two nights and can’t fault our stay at their beautiful place. The rooms were big and spacious and spotlessly clean. There are good tea and coffee making facilities with a bottle of fresh milk daily for you to make your tea and coffee. There is also a good WI-FI connection from the room.

There is a lovely dining room with a great breakfast selection on the menu. I had a traditional full English that was perfectly cooked with lovely fresh bacon, egg, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, hash Browns and sausage. There was also cereals, fresh juice and a selection of bread and spreads. My wife had eggs royal and said this was really good and very filling.
If you have an early start or leaving early they do a take away breakfast.

There is parking in the road outside and the town centre is a short walk away making this a great location.

It’s clear from the rooms, breakfast and welcome that Richard and Sarah give that they both work hard in making sure their gusts have the perfect stay. I thoroughly recommend this guest house and would be very happy to come back and stay here again. I believe if you book here you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely people, lovely light airy room , great location and very value. Richard and Sarah were Ideal hosts, friendly and welcoming. You could even take a takeaway back with you and use the microwave in the breakfast room to heat it up.
Richard is a trained chef so the breakfasts were rather yummy.
I had a quiet room at the back of the house which was simply and tastefully decorated with all the usual facilities, a comfy bed and fluffy pillows.
I liked the way the use of plastic was kept to a minimum too, with a small fridge for milk, and kilner jars for water, tea, coffee and sugar.
Definitely a great find, definitely going again!

Had an absolutely fabulous staycation at the Pendennis guesthouse. We were made to feel welcome immediately upon arrival and the personable care and service provided by the host was exceptional. Fully compliant with COVID mitigation guidelines which did not hinder the quality of our stay and made us feel very safe. The breakfast was always delightful and timely and they even provided us veggie sausages. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever had the privilege of sleeping on.

We are about 20 minutes from the bus and rail stations. If you walk along the seafront and promenade it is a gentle flat walk. Or you can jump in a taxi for about £4 and be with us in less than 5 minutes.
