Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Torwood House for 5 nights in September 2020. Our room was huge & had everything we could wish for - kettle & hot drinks facilities, lovely shower with ample hot water, comfy bed & convenient location to walk to restaurants and along the bay. Perfect if you are heading off to the Isles of Scilly as we did. Our family of grown up kids joined us for two nights and they also stayed in a large room.
Steve cooked delicious breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble for Lynda.
As we had to depart really early for the ferry to St Mary's, Lynda kindly supplied us with a packed breakfast to eat on the ferry.
Many thanks to both of you for a fantastic stay. Thoroughly recommended.
Best wishes

We stayed in Penzance just before the coronavirus took hold. We were given a friendly welcome by Lynda and Steve who were extremely helpful. Our rooms were lovely, clean, bright and very large. All the amenities including tea making, WiFi, and tv were available and the en suite bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. Good variety of breakfast, yoghurts, cereals and fruits followed by any type of cooked breakfast ask for. We would recommend Torwood House and would love to return again.

The hosts were friendly yet unobtrusive and were on hand to offer assistance whenever and whatever was needed. Our room was spacious and light and there were lots of extras added to make our stay special. The hotel doubles up as a bike hire centre so you can go on trips from the hotel by bike if you want. The hotel is brilliantly situated slightly away from the bustle and noise of the main town but only a five minute walk from the Promenade and beach. Newlyn is only a 20 minute walk away as well. To top it all the breakfasts were excellent with cooked Cornish fare right through to vegetarian options. I would definitely stay here again.

Torwood House was the last stop for our Cornwall tour and it was the perfect way to finish our staycation. Lynda and Steve are the perfect hosts you could ask for. We felt very comfortable and at home during our stay. As we had long day trips, we often ended up eating in our rooms as we were too tired. As per our request, Lynda was very kind to provide us with plates and cutlery.
When I told Lynda about not having tickets to Minack Theatre, she immediately offered to ask her son (who works there). If he hadn’t suggested the matinee show, we would’ve missed out on the gorgeous landmark.
The breakfast, location and stay overall was delightful.

We had an amazing stay at Torwood B&B over the weekend. The property was lovely and clean and well looked after. We had our dachshund with us and we’re made to feel very welcome.
The B&B was in a fab location for a short stroll into the centre of Penzance to lots of lovely dog friendly pubs.
The breakfast was lovely with lots of selection for cooked options and continental. All the cooked options were cooked to perfection.
There was plenty of parking outside however avoid parking under the trees with nests as our car found out the hard way from the birds mess!
Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a nice stay in Penzance

We stayed at Torwood House for 5 nights. Lynda made us very welcome from the start. The bed was very comfortable, the free WiFi reception was great and I liked the idea that there was a little fridge in the room where we could cool our water bottles ready for another day trip. The breakfast was out of this world, absolutely delicious with lots of choice. My husband in particular absolutely loved the hogs pudding. We were definitely made to feel very welcome and we would stay there again.

Linda and Steve were perfect hosts from the lovely welcome, tips on walks and restaurants, providing a clean, spacious and comfortable room to the delicious breakfasts. We had a wonderful stay at Torwood House and would thoroughly recommend. We ate at Mermaid Alley and Navy inn, both of which we would recommend 10/10. We walked to Mousehole and had afternoon tea in the Rock Pool Cafe then walked back through Newlyn and stopped for a snack at the Mackerel Sky Seafood restaurant.

Booked a trip on the night train from Paddington to Penzance and found this hotel online for a night stay before heading back to Lancashire. The original plan was to arrive on the sleeper train and go on a day trip to the Scilly Isles. I was unsure whether there would be anywhere to leave our cases in Penzance to avoid taking them on the ferry with us. I called Linda before booking to ask for advice and she told me that we could leave the bags with her on route to the ferry. Calling her was the best thing I did as not only was she willing to take our bags she also saved us money booking with her direct.
As it happened due to a mix up in the planned date of travel on the sleeper train, our stay was delayed 24 hours. Once again I called Linda who thankfully was able to fit us in and moved the booking back a day. Upon arrival Linda greeted us and showed us to our room.
The room was lovely, spacious with a lovely en suite which again was larger than in most b&bs I have stayed in. All the usual facilities such as tea/coffee plus a couple of extra perks such as a hairdryer and a fridge in the room.
The following morning breakfast was lovely. Again Linda cannot do enough for you. Full selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit etc and a wide choice of cooked breakfasts. I opted for poached eggs on toast and added hogs pudding (cornish delicacy) whilst my husband had scrambled egg on toast and asked for a couple of bacon rashers on the side.

I stayed here for a couple of nights on my way to the mainland from Scilly and I found it to be really good value for money, spotlessly clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and the host were lovely and friendly. The breakfast was really good with a great choice and the location is great. Can't fault this lovely B&B and I'll always try to book here whenever I come away.
