Excellent service from a small family run hotel. Amazing views of Mount's Bay and surrounding areas. Very close to beautiful outdoor swimming pool and nearby towns such as Mousehole, Newlyn and St Ives. Also Penzance is great link for the Isles of Scilly although it appears that the helicopter is not running any more.

I had occasion to stay at the Southern Comfort Hotel for a total period of several months, it is a long story so please don't ask...........but have to say it was a good experience due to the care and kindness shown towards me by the landlady Jane, her partner Geoff and his son Josh as well as the remainder of... We were desperately seeking somewhere to stay in Penzance and fortunately found The Southern Comfort on Trip Advisor. Jane the landlady absolutely surpassed our expectations with her polite manner, helpfulness and quality of service. We could only stay for one night but would have been happy to stay for more as it was only £30pppn. No deposit necessary and 20... More

I booked two rooms with Jane from the Southern Comfort Hotel, one for myself and my fiance and the other for my parents who had flown in from Australia. Both were a great size and with views out to sea and St. Michael's Mount..stunning! We stayed three nights at the hotel, the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful... More

The place is not very well looked after, badly decorated and cold in spite of 2 electrical radiators in our room. The central heating seems to be out of order. On the positive side we have a very pleasant and quite location. Owners are helpfull. Breakfast is plenty and good.

For £60 a night with full breakfast included, one shouldn't expect much more. The people are very friendly and welcoming. That, sadly, is about the only nice thing I can say.

Stayed in the hotel one night in Sept while touring Cornwall. Hotel is easy to locate by the seafront. They have car parking spaces directly in front of the hotel. Room and shower is clean and coffee making facilities provided. Most memorable about stay is that the owner, Jane, is very hospitable. She is forever so friendly, warm and sincere.... More

We come from London and stayed here for 6 nights in early September. The host Jane couldn't have been more helpful. She picked us from the Railway station, advised us on places to visit, made a restaurant booking for our wedding anniversary and was generally polite and friendly. The hotel although about 20 minutes brisk walk into town is in... More

We stayed 2 nights in the family suite and would have stayed longer except Jane didn't have a room for us. Jane is wonderful, helpful, enthusiastic. She even leant me her laptop with wireless to check emails. It's too bad she doesn't accept credit cards. Since we were on a long term walking holiday (South West Coast Path), we need... More

We stayed here on the way to and return from the Scilly Isles. The owners of the Southern Comfort are really caring and lovely. They have no quibbles with doing a vegetarian or vegan breakfast, and bought in vegan sausages, soya milk, margarine and yogurt especially for us. They also offer to run those without cars to the station and... More
