The Queen's Hotel is a late-Georgian, three-story building in the heart of picturesque St Ives. 5 mins from the harbour and beaches. Downstairs is a relaxed and friendly bar with delicious pub food. Local beers. Warming fire. Children are very welcome: there are boardgames + toys; baby-changing; children's menu. The harbour front and Fore Street are under five minutes walk away.

We were not impressed with this hotel.
No complaints about the staff and service though and the cooked breakfast was very good. The staff were all hard working, friendly and very helpful and for this reason I feel uncomfortable giving the hotel an average review because I feel they deserve better.
However, as soon as we entered the guest area of the hotel from the main bar area we were hit by an awful dirty musty smell. We were located on the top floor and the smell filled the entire hallway, stairs and landing areas. Besides the unpleasant smell it all looked so dingy and was also in need of a lick of paint.
Being located on the top floor was not a problem for us as we'd requested a quiet room and that's just what we got. Apart from dirt and dust around the sash windows it was generally a clean room with a comfortable bed. The basic furnishings in the room were old and tatty - certainly not 'vintage' as described by the hotel. Other rooms may have been furnished with better quality items but ours certainly wasn't.
The Queens is in a great central location, with easy access to everything in St Ives. If the stairs and landing areas were smartened up, the unpleasant musty smell dealt with and the bedroom furniture replaced with a few decent items then, with the efforts of the exceptional people who work here, there's no reason why this couldn't be a very good hotel.
Didn't complain at the time because this is not a 'quick fix'.
Pretty sure that we won't be returning.

Called in for lunch on the way to the beach.

Great Covid 19 measures in place.
Hand sanitizer at door, track & trace contact details taken, tables spaciously set out. Spotlessly clean.

Friendly staff.

Great menu. I chose the Ploughman’s lunch which was delicious, with thick tasty ham and very tasty cheese, fresh salad. Freshly cut thick bread. Hubby had the Cajun chicken breast burger served with onion rings and chips. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ice cold lagers too.

Plenty of people calling in reserving tables for later in the day/evening. Definitely recommend.

We have just stayed at the Queens Hotel for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room which was large and on top floor was very clean, bed extremely comfortable and bathroom was very well equipped with a very powerful shower. The food was excellent. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Our first dinner was the beef stew and dumplings which was extremely delicious, the beef melted in your mouth. Our second night we had the roast dinner which was amazing with beef and pork and what a selection of vegetables. We had the apple raisin and cinnamon crumble with vanilla ice cream, this finished of an amazing meal. All the food was well presented and delicious. The staff in all departments were very attentive and helpful making our stay very enjoyable.
The only suggestion is to lighten up the stairway going up to the bedroom
We highly recommend the Queens Hotel and will be back.

Long weekend, ideal, honest pub hotel. We booked extra big double bed room. Romantic weekend playing sardines in a standard double is not an option. Bed is comfortable and duvet pillows etc good quality and crisp & clean. Spotless rooms, bathroom etc. Shower a little water conscious for washing long hair but water hot. Quiet (in Feb) from pub downstairs. Street noise as you would expect. Breakfast very good and pub food ditto. Recommended to friends would stay again.

We stayed here August 2020 for 5 nights. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to everything in town. We ate here on the night we arrived and had a Sunday roast which honestly wasn't the best but the service was great. Check in was easy and they gave us breakfast forms to fill out each day for breakfast the following morning which i loved as there was no waiting or ordering in the morning, we just came down at our time slot and food came out...it was perfect!
We stayed in room 8 on the top floor which had a sea view, very comfy bed, big bathroom and all amenities that we needed. The wifi wasn't very good, it seemed to randomly disconnect and was very slow when it was working. Overall this was a nice hotel with really nice staff and would recommend if you want something simple in the town centre. Enjoy!

We live local to St Ives. We have stayed at The Queens Hotel for the last 2 years on a pre Christmas break. The last being in the midst of Covid-19. The team at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, we felt so safe as they held strict COVID rules and thoroughly checked which tier guests were from. The team are so attentive and friendly. You really couldn’t pick a better location to soak up the beautiful atmosphere of St Ives. The breakfast is amazing too. Thank you for looking after us so well. We will be back again in December!

We were here for s night, pre Covie so cannot comment on the sanitary requirements. As this is a fairly central hotel, we expected it to be noisy, but in fact we spent a very peaceful, night in St, Ives. Everything was within walking distance and after a cosy night's sleep, we awoke to a very substantial breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend the Queen to fellow trravellers.

We arrived for a long birthday weekend with my twin sister. The rooms are spotless, modern with great tea/coffee facilities, We had the superior rooms, comfy, clean bed, quiet, considering that you are in central town. we parked in the railway car park, £7.20 for 24hrs, it's about 5 mins walk away.Staff and owners, very friendly, a real home from home feel. The breakfast is amazing, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection!! Tracey is so lovely, we mentioned that it was our birthday and we had a nice surprise when we arrived back, chocs and a card on our bed!!
We would recommend a stay here and we will book again for December. Great value and Tracey gave us lots of useful tips, on where to visit. Thank again for a wonderful stay.

Most things are great about this hotel, the location, staff, room size and breakfast. After staying 4 nights the thing that let the hotel down was the noise in the morning from delivery trucks. This usually started at around 5am but one morning was 4:30. Our room was on the first floor, we usually sleep with the window open as it was warm but after the first night we closed it. Unfortunately this provided no relief even with secondary glazing. I understand it’s an old building with sash windows but a general assumption with hotels is that you should have a good nights sleep. If you are staying here avoid the lower floors and maybe have a room at the rear.

My partner booked a room here at the end of September and we were both very disappointed with what we had. The pictures on the website looked lovely and modern, clean and inviting but what we got was a small basic box room at the back of the pub. The bedding and towels were clean but there was wallpaper peeling off the ceiling in the corner of the room, dirty patches on the walls, stained carpets and the furnishings seemed worn and not particularly clean. The hallways up to the room had an unpleasant musty smell and seemed like they needed a good clean too. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency but when my partner emailed the following day to see if there was any way of getting a little bit of money back even just for the breakfast that we never had, he was told this was not possible at all which was a shame because staff seemed friendly while we were there but not so much afterwards. Over all, extremely disappointed.

stivescarpark website. - we booked a space, arrived to find a secure car park where our car had it's own bay. A 2 min drive to town, the taxi dropped us off and collected us when we were going home. Really easy when you have cases etc! We did not need our car in st Ives, the roads too small/busy and no where to park anyway, this was hassle free, car protected in secure compound with CCTV. Hope this helps. Linda
