What an excellent find! We stayed in the apartment at Harbour View House in October, and it truly was the perfect antidote to London life.
Georgia and Ant, who run the hotel and apartment were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Both the apartment and hotel have a stylish and laid-back feel. Georgia has taken the time to source vintage and interesting furniture complemented by original photography and artwork on the walls – we also loved listening to the record player whilst looking out of the stunning window to the seafront.
The couple work alongside in house chef Coco, who brings modern Italian cooking to the seaside hotel, and barista Cam, who serves delicious coffees each morning. I would encourage anyone to book for a Friday night, so you can sample the teams’ supper club – a menu which changes regularly and is incredibly good value. All four team members were friendly and welcoming during every interaction and were happy to share local tips and ideas for days out in the area. We were also impressed by the level of hygiene and COVID safe measures taken, ensuring we left safe at all times.
This hotel is also situated in the perfect spot. Just a five-minute walk from St. Ives railway (parking is also available for guests), and overlooking the beautiful Harbour. The apartment was the perfect hideaway, and includes two clean and comfortable bedrooms, along with an open and bright living/dining and kitchen space – you also have a private balcony where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening aperitivo.
We cannot wait to come back again next summer, and given the great write-ups and coverage this little spot is getting, we may just book in now.
Thank you, Harbour View House team!

Georgia and Ant who run the hotel are friendly, relaxed and attentive, the rest of their team is made up of Cam, who makes fantastic coffees and Aperol Spritz, and Coco, their talented in-house chef. We stayed at Harbour View House for the perfect city escape, staying in the apartment which had incredible views of St Ives harbour, with loads of natural light and cool retro interior, with some gorgeous vintage pieces. The beds are really comfy with fresh linen sheets, the perfect place to rest after a days out walking around the town or along the stunning coastal walks.
The cafe and dining area also have spectacular views, where we often sat to take in the view with our coffee, or glass of wine. Georgia has designed all the interiors herself and the overall ambience of the hotel is fresh, relaxing and trendy.
We were lucky enough to be there for their Friday Night Supper club, where their larger dining room is styled for the evening, you feast on a delicious 4 course meal, plus a glass of process for £30 - the crab linguine was the highlight!
Harbour View House and its stylish, warm and relaxed ambience and incredible views is the ultimate city escape or staycation. Before we left we made sure we tried the Breakfast Burrito - it's a must have!!

Just returned from a lovely long weekend in St Ives, made all the more special with a comfortable stay at Harbour View House. Ant and Georgia are both very accommodating and happy to recommend things to do in and around the local area, they are both the friendly faces of the hotel. The rooms are small and basic but have fantastic views across the bay, and there’s plan to refurbishment them across the winter months. Breakfast was a highlight, perfectly organised by tables for each room and the menu choices are outstanding and delicious - the scrambled eggs were always cooked to perfection on sourdough bread. Location is perfect for a leisurely stroll downhill to the harbour. Would definitely recommend to stay here. We’re already looking forward to visiting again!

Got a parking space straight away on
Arrival. The parking is at the back of the hotel down a slope. We then went into the hotel to be greeted by the lovely couple who gave us a parking permit and said that they would ring us as soon as our room was ready. The hotel is located next to the bus station and a few minutes walk to the train station. It is just on the outskirts of the side streets, hence away from the hustle and bustle. They called us as soon as the room was ready, which was very kind.
The rooms are on the first floor and we had room 2. The room was decorated beautifully, coffee etc In the room, complimentary drink vouchers, postcard, soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers available to use. Beautiful thick towels in the bathroom with a very modern feel.
The breakfast room/bar was a beautifully spacious room overlooking the harbour. The menu was varied and you could make it your own.
Tea/coffee and orange juice to start at breakfast. The granola pot, which was handmade, was fantastic and a lovely touch!! I had the scrambled egg with avocado on the sourdough bread and instead of bacon or salmon I had the mushrooms. It was amazing and so tasteful and presented beautifully. Loved the sourdough bread. My husband had the full English which was also very tasty. Just a small suggestion, the butter to be in a separate pot rather than straight onto the bread for people who dislike butter.
The hosts, staff and chef were all very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere.
I feel leaflets of things to do would be an added bonus on entering the hotel but other than that perfect!!

Hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, beating some 5* I’ve stayed in recently.
It may not stand out at first glance but as soon as you step foot inside it’s a different story.
The decor is fitting with the area, very beachy and quirky - I had to check the labels of everything so that I can purchase for my own home!
The music when you walk in is really chill and easy listening.
The staff are fantastic. We had a call to say our room was ready to check in (earlier than it should have been) which I thought was nice. We asked where would be good to park we were given good instructions and when we pulled up the man was waiting at the door to give us a parking permit. We felt extremely welcomed and all the staff and owners went above and beyond to make us feel special.
The location is spot on, very close to the train station, a 5 minute walk into town and the same to get to the main beach.
The views are insane - if you’re lucky enough to be able to get the suite you have a bath in the room overlooking the harbour - worth every penny.
The breakfast and coffee is to die for, again one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had.
They do a happy hour for 2 for 1 drinks and the cocktails are fab!
Overall I’m so pleased to have stayed in the hotel and will definitely return each time I visit St Ives!

My husband and I have just returned from a really lovely stay at Harbour View House. My mum looked after our baby for the long weekend and this was our first time away since she was born.
The hotel was taken over earlier this year and is run by Georgia and Ant who have made some really good changes. We’ve visited St Ives for years and have walked past the hotel in the past when it was incredibly old fashioned. Georgia and Ant have made it much brighter and really welcoming and said they’d spent all of lockdown decorating and making updates. They also plan to spend the winter updating some of the rooms and bathrooms.
The views are just stunning, we sat for ages (child free which was lovely) staring out the large window at the harbour. The space has a lovely feel, breakfasts were unreal and so lovely to have lots of options for breakfast. My husband opted for a full English most days and I tried the halloumi burrito which was lovely. You must also try the banana bread!!!
The hotel runs a supper club on a Friday evening I think and really recommend it. There were 4 courses, lovely red wine, candlelit tables. The crab linguine was amazing, the chef uses all fresh ingredients and makes his own pasta.
We thought the hotel was clean and presented really well. It has a really nice feel to it and we were really welcomed by Georgia and Ant who wanted to ensure we had a good stay and had everything we needed. We will be back again

I had an incredible 3 night stay at Harbour View House. My room had a beautiful view of the harbour and was immaculately clean with comfy beds/pillows and all the amenities i needed. Georgia and Ant run the hotel, they are very welcoming and nothing is too much for them in making you feel at home (without being over-bearing!). They have great local recommendations for food/drinks/walking/general sightseeing.
Coco is the Chef and makes an amazing breakfast menu, i would particularly recommend the breakfast burrito - and Cam makes great coffee from his 'hatch.' This can all be enjoyed in their dining area which has beautiful views of the harbour and Georgia has designed it to feel spacious and inviting.
The location is perfect, you are a 5 minute walk from the harbour/centre of town and less than 5 minute walk to Porthminster beach. I will certainly be coming back again.

A charming young couple literally in at the deep end taking over a business in February, which turn out to be unprecedented times, do not seem at all phased. They have spent their lockdown time putting their own stamp on the premises. The dining room is simple but stylish with one of many great views over St Ives Harbour. Some teething problems as you would expect under the circumstances but they are being addressed.
I stayed for two nights in a very comfortable bed. With their systems and precautions in place to support peoples stay, it certainly dispels any worries you may have.
The two breakfasts I had were SCRUMMY an ideal small menu was perfect with what it was offering. All in all I would recommend and would very much like to return.
I wish Georgia and Ant EVERY success in their business.

Harbour View House is the ideal place to stay in St Ives, providing a perfect location with incredible views, food and a beautiful hotel.
My partner and I visited St Ives in June for a week, and were incredibly pleased with our accommodation. Harbour View House is a beautiful hotel, bringing a tranquil feel which runs through the hotel, and incorporates a stunning view of the harbour.
The owners, Ant and Georgia, were excellent hosts, friendly and willing to answer a range of questions and provide advice, as well as always ensuring their guests are having the best experience.
The location is also ideal, just before the harbour with its own parking, there is easy access to the town and surrounding area via car, train or walking.
We would highly recommend Harbour View House and look forward to visiting again soon.
