I visited this establishment for a week as a single holiday maker and was greated by a lovely lively young couple who have taken over the management of this guest house. It is a family business as the owners son is one half of the management team. The guest house is ideally located for stunning views from their rooms (pictures...

I really liked it here as soon as I saw the view. You can see all of St Ives from the bay window in room 1. It is clear that the new owners have turned the Carlyon around and it'll soon be expensive so enjoy it now

A very friendly and welcoming guest house. I required a single-occupancy room for my 3 day business trip to the south west - the Carlyon was most accommodating, and not only perfectly located, but also extremely good value. My 3rd floor room faced towards Porthminster Beach, and the view was simply astonishing! My only slight criticism would be that the...

Lovely Guest House which has recently been taken over by a charming young couple. The Guest house is within a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes from the town. The room was great, and recently refurbished. The linen was changed daily, as were all the essentials. Breakfast was second to none- You have whatever you wanted. Recommended...

I read the reviews on this place prior to booking and had mixed thoughts however, are we glad we booked! There is a tiny bit of road noise, far outweighed by the sound of the Atlantic meeting the beach, just across the road. The views from the front facing rooms are comparable with the best 'rooms with a view' that...

We went there as a family of four for 4 nights on Boxing day. The first impression was that our rooms were cramped. Not much room to move, not enough room for decent storage of clothes. The beds were comfortable enough but I found it hard to sleep because the noise travels. There is a serious broken gutter so if...

We liked how close it was to the station and that it was only a short walk down the hill to everything in the town. The manager William was very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was delicious, and he made us bacon sandwiches to take with us because we were leaving and didn't have time for a full breakfast was great!!...
