Not tried the restaurant upstairs... only ever eaten in the bar. This is a 'proper' old pub with lots of beams, flagstone floors and decent ales. Also, two rump steaks with all the trimmings and a bottle of wine for £24 all in. Bargain. Delicious steaks perfectly cooked (medium rare for us) too. Similar 'two roasts and a bottle of...

We ate in the captains table upstairs. Very warm welcome from the waiting staff. Starters tasty and well presented. Lobster Thai red colour on the specials board was a big hit, my fish pie was very tasty. Cheddar on the cheese plate a bit mild for us. Entertainment in the bar downstairs from 9 pm. Shame a pint of local...

Quite a regular visitor to St. Ives and usually have a couple of visits to the Sloop - never disappointed and always try something different - recommend it to everyone. The seafood tagliatelle is brilliant and very filling - we're trying the seafood platter later - it looked fantastic.

We entered this place hopeful but not too hopeful. Fortunately they had oysters which were fresh and couldn't be murdered if had raw. They were lovely. I can't say the same for the fish i had which was supposed to be a delicate flat fish and arrived at my table having died twice, once humanly on the boat and the...

I visited the captain's table with three other people and we had a lovely meal. I ordered goats cheese bruchetta for a starter and a seafood tagliatelle for main and both were delicious! There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and it was reasonably priced . We will definitely visit again when we are next in St Ives.

Great choices on the menu with (as you would expect in Cornwall) lots of lovely fresh fish. Very tasty puddings too. Service was fast and efficient. Friendly hardworking staff. Lovely little private 'booths' to sit in and the walls are decorated with some very nice art work that can be purchased - some paintings very reasonable others more expensive but...

We visit every year and stop in the look-out. We can not rate this place highly enough, the room is amazing comfy bed with views of the harbour, a newly fitted bathroom and breakfast brought to your room! Just perfect! The atmosphere in the bar downstairs is always welcoming and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Have already booked...

My only way of expressing what we experienced is to post the letter we sent to them... Dear All at the Sloop, We just wanted to say that we had one of the best times in the UK we have ever had. Although we only stayed one night you looked after us brilliantly! The room was so spacious, clean and...

We popped in for our usual tradition of a relaxing drink sitting outside this well established St. Ives watering hole and were not disappointed. The bar staff were very jolly and accomodating, (unlike a foreign gentleman who had served us in previous months!) The selection of drinks was very good considering it was February. I opted for the in house...

A wonderful building, we came in here on our first night and got very merry, listened to some great live music and danced. Beer selection was great, the beer garden is brilliant, always packed out. Had lunch in here and had possibly the best fishcakes I've ever had, I would love to come back here
