Visited on a sunny April day. 2 sausage deli rolls were very tasty. Crab sandwich and cheese sandwich were ok but a little dry Beer (clovelley cobbler) was very tasty and well kept and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. To be honest, this is probably one night too many in Clovelly as this is the only place to really eat and, although the fish is excellent, the meat dishes aren't the best (my pork tasted like it had been cooked twice). Clovelly doesn't have that much to do, but is beautiful...

It's got the location and audience as it's the only place to eat at the bottom of the walk down the cobbled street to the harbour but sadly the food was very average. We visited in the Easter Holidays and although it was busy, it really shouldn't take over an hour for a pie of the day and fish &...

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review - I am sorry that you had a wait for your food, but during the holidays we tend to get very busy at lunchtimes and as everything is cooked to order there is sometimes a delay.

The hotel is situated right at the waters edge in the heart of Clovelly. As a guest of the hotel you get free access to the beautiful little village and get parking access also right next to the hotel, which to me was a bonus. The road in and out, though fairly steep, is very save to drive and actually...

Hate leaving a bad review, had lunch there today waited 35 mins for a ploughmans and 2 sandwiches, people who ordered well after us received food first. No big deal but it's not the cheapest meal! The older lady behind the bar was lovely but the younger one did not seem to care or want to be there. £50 spent...

We stood at the bar whilst 2 staff debated what was being served and 2 others pretty much ignored us for several minutes- not a good start. Decided not to eat but when discovered the wine was on tap skipped that too. A pint was ordered and we managed to grab a table in the sunshine. A family from Germany...

I am sorry that you didnt enjoy your visit the The Red Lion - if you had asked we have a very extensive wine list, the wine on tap is just another option. During busy periods it can take up to 45 minutes for food to arrive -staff should inform customers when taking their orders. We dont allow staff to...

I can't comment on the hotel as we didn't have the fortune of staying, but after a long walk down we stopped for coffee. Sitting outside in the sunshine watching the world go by was bliss! We decided to go back for lunch and was not disappointed. The bar staff were friendly, and the service was quick. The menu had...

After walking 11mi + from Westward Ho! Walked yet down to the harbour to ask at the Red Lion if the restaurant was open. Lady said yes. Asked me to follow her, showed menu, gave me slots for dinner and telephone to call and book (since I said I had to check w/ my friends- in our hotel- and call...

I am sorry that you were unable to dine with us yesterday, but as I explained to your friend one of our Chefs had an accident and was unable to work, this left us very short staffed and unable to take any non residents in the restaurant. My colleague merely told your friend that the restaurant was open - she...

The views from the hotel and the bedroom are amazing. The staff are lovely and very helpful although the bar is very understaffed. Bar food was well cooked and tasty but take a book as you will have a long wait. The breakfast was amazing and wonderful choice. Do not have room 8 as it is above the kitchen and although...

Thank you for your kind review, we are in the process of taking on more staff for the busy season so this should take some pressure off of our busy bar staff, breakfast is all cooked to order so sometimes there is a delay especially on busy Saturdays and Sundays. Our creaking door should be sorted out very soon!!!! Otherwise...
