We were served with the worst mussels that I have ever experienced. They were shrivelled to the size of a small pea and the liquor was tastless. We decided that they were not worth th effort of eating, we paid and left informing them of our disappointment. No reduction of the bill was offered. I am very surprised that the...

Our room was very small, the bed comfortable, the shower was quite good. I had tuna steak for dinner which was very thin & over cooked & the salad arrived on the very hot plate. Not good. My wife had muscles which OK. Bayard Cove itself is a beautiful spot. We did the steam train ride which was excellent

The Bayard Cove Inn was a nice place. Our room was quite nice. It had a lot of room and a comfy place to sit. The shower was good and the bathroom had enough room to set things out. The restaurant was good and the staff was really nice. It was a good location for exploring Dartmouth and Kingswear by...

We stayed in the Mountbatten room on the first floor, which turned out to be very spacious and nicely decorated. The inn is one of the oldest buildings in Dartmouth and you can tell that just by looking at the outside of the place. It's only a few steps to the quayside with great views of the river and the...

Bayard's Cove Inn is a quaint combined bar, brasserie and cafe adjacent to the ancient and picturesque Bayard's Cove. On our arrival for an evening meal we were immediately made to feel welcome - we were greeted with a warm, friendly smile from the waitress and given a choice of table. The place was dimly lit and the decor simple...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This small friendly hotel is one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most interesting buildings. It was originally constructed as a Tudor merchant's house and would have been a welcome sight when the Pilgrim Fathers stopped off at Bayards Cove on their way to America in August 1620. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayards Cove in the centre of this lovely town, with the market and main shopping area only a short level walk away. Guests are sure to enjoy the unique character of the hotel and its thoughtfully refurbished luxury rooms, all of which have freeview, televisions and DVD players, and some also enjoy views over the water of the cove. ... more   less
