We stayed with our dog for two nights in the cottage, well worth the money with great facilities and view. Staff were great and breakfast was also great. Would stay again. The bar was also the best in town with great service and local Ales.
We booked as a last minute getaway for a couple of nights and this was an ideal location and accommodation. Staff were all very friendly and the accommodation was good without spoiling the feel of an "olde worlde" retreat. Our room was very comfortable with a sea view - perhaps a second comfy chair would have been good otherwise very happy with the room. Some of the public areas could do with a bit of a tidy up and decoration as long as the character is not spoilt. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed during our stay as the good reviews were one of the reasons for choosing the Rising Sun and the email notifying of the closure was received after the booking was made. That said, we had excellent meals at the nearby Bath Hotel. All in all, a very pleasant stay and would recommend.…
Easy to find hotel right on the sea front. Great views from the bar and the cottage we were staying in at the top of the hill. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The cottage we stayed in was very spacious comfortable and very clean. Really recommend staying in the cottage as it’s at the top of the hill it’s very quiet. Only downside was the kitchen was closed but did still offer breakfast
We only stayed at the Rising sun for a night but it felt it was a lot longer. The hotel is old and interesting. The veiws….. just wonderful and we just enjoyed watching the world go by outside. The bed was super comfortable and fantastic shower. Good choice for breakfast and didn’t mind choosing the day before. We will return hopefully one day🤞
We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at this delightful and quirky little hotel. As the building is so old, the stairs are narrow and steep, but this adds to the charm. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was first class, the staff are all amazing and friendly, and the bar is cosy, with a great atmosphere. If I had to find a tiny fault, it was that the sink in our ensuite was so small and narrow that it was very difficult to wash my face and clean my teeth, but this is understandable in such a beautiful old building where space is limited. The ladies that serviced the rooms were a delight, and so happy it was infectious! I can't wait to stay again.
