We stayed here for one night at the end of October and had a really fantastic experience. The standard of service could not be faulted, the room was excellent, breakfast and cream tea was delicious (and filling!) and the location amazing with great views. Very highly recommended!
Definitely a 5* break with Richard and Robert giving absolute attention to detail to every aspect of our stay. The whole house was spotlessly clean, food was deserving of a Michelin star and our room extremely comfortable with breath taking views.
I have had the most amazing mini break again staying at High Cliffe House with Robert and Richard. As always the attention to detail is just amazing, breakfast was fabulous, fresh fruits, local products. The view across the bay is stunning. Robert and Richard are amazing hosts nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for my wonderful stay
Stayed at the beautiful Highcliffe House for 4 nights. We were treated like royalty and spoilt rotten. Receiving a hamper and tea and scones on arrival. The attention to detail and customer service was excellent. The room was immaculate, with a huge and very comfortable bed. We also had a balcony overlooking the sea, which was lovely to chill on in the mornings/evenings with a cup of tea. Breakfast was delicious. Take note of the extensive beautiful teacup collection. Thank you Robert & Richard for making our Honeymoon truly special.
We have just returned from a 2 night break and had a fantastic stay. It is certainly a 5 star guest house! Our room was beautiful, with the comfiest and largest bed I have ever slept in. The hosts, Robert and Richard, were so welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were great with a fantastic choice and topped off with a great view. It is very well organised and with amazing attention detail. Thank you both so much for a great weekend!
My friends and I stayed in Highcliffe House. What an experience. Beautiful rooms, stunning views, breakfast superb, location amazing. Hospitality second to none. It was great to have two towns to explore nearby. The valley of the rocks was definitely a highlight of my stay. Thank you Richard and Robert, you made my first time in Devon a wonderful, memorable experience. Teresa
Working in the hospitality industry and having the opportunity to travel a lot it can be hard not to be overly critical. We had the joy of visiting Highcliffe House for a weekend break and to say it was 5 star is an understatement! The house itself is spectacular overlooking breathtaking sea and mountains views. The bedrooms cater for every conceivable request, majestic bed, finest bed linen, tea/coffee making facility, Devine toiletries, robes etc not to mention binoculars! The breakfast was incredible and the service exceptional. Th team bend over backwards to make you feel special Absolutely everything was faultless. We will definitely be back! Can’t wait to explore more of Devine Devon.
A beautiful Victorian house on a hill with breath taking views, stunning décor throughout and spotlessly clean. The house exudes luxury and elegance and is perfectly located within walking distance to the Valley of the Rocks and Lynton centre with its fabulous restaurants, shops etc. We stayed in the Myrtleberry room for three nights which has a private balcony and great views of Lynton and the coast. The room is beautiful with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Robert and Richard are fantastic hosts and went over and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Great ambience, service and amenities and the breakfast is exceptional. We loved our stay. Five star and highly recommended. Karen P.
Have just returned from a 3 night break at this fantastic 5 star guest house. It was a last minute booking but were accommodated by switching between two wonderfully luxurious rooms. The hosts, Robert and Richard, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The attention to detail and thought that has gone into the bedrooms is outstanding and the breakfasts were delicious. Thank you for a great three days and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
What a wonderful find! This guest house is an absolute treasure. Hosts Richard and Robert extend a very warm welcome to those who cross the threshold of their beautiful home. No attention to detail is spared, the rooms are immaculate, the service impecable and as for the breakfast (locally sourced), words fail me. I will definitly be making a return visit. A charming fishing village on the doorstep and wonderful Exmoor offer plenty to explore. I did not get the chance to ride down the cliff on the funicular, which I gather is the oldest steam powered funicular in the world, perhaps next time.
