A beautifully appointed B&B with friendly welcoming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for Robert and Richard, who were happy to chat and get to know their guests. The cream tea on arrival was such a thoughtful touch, and a lovely start to our stay. Our room was luxuriously decorated with every possible need thought of. The bed was exceptionally comfortable (as well as very large!), and the room was complimented by the breathtaking views down to Lymouth and across to the Welsh coast. Breakfast was served in the conservatory, which also benefits from those views, and was a lovely place to gently ease into the day whilst enjoying delicious home food. We certainly didn't go hungry, there was a great choice with something to suit everyone. We had a truly relaxing stay, and would highly recommend Highcliffe house to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Phil & Alison

Perched on a hill overlaooking Lynton and Lynmouth this high class bed and breakfast has thought of every need it's guests might have. We stayed in the Myrtleberry Room which has a small balcony overlookng the bay below. The room was beautifully furnished, We sank into a comfortable bed each night and our heads rested on pillows like clouds. Breakfast was fantastic - we ate in the conservatory dining room overlooking the sea. Each morning we started with the house speciality, a berry bowl, succulent blueberries, strawberries and raspberries which I added to the home-made muesli. The cooked breakfast choices included a full English (items ordered separately) and my favourite - scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Hosts Robert and Richard could not do enough for us. They took us on a fascinating journey as they described the paintings and artefacts which decorate the three reception rooms. As the house is just a short walk from the centre of Lynton and not far from the adjoining town of Lynmouth we were within walkng distance of all the many atractions in the area and enjoyed some lovely walks including the Valley of the Rocks, Hollerday Hill and Watersmeet. There are several good restaurants near Highcliffe House so we never went hungry! It was a memorable stay - thank you.

Valery and Gordon, thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate your wonderful descriptions of the rooms, breakfast and the area. Lovely also to share mutual travel stories together. The art at Highcliffe is always a talking point and we were so delighted you recognised some of the Asian, African and South American work. Warm Regards, Robert and Richard

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was luxurious, with the promised sea views as well as views across the town and cliffs. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was gorgeous! The welcome was fulsome as was the cream tea. Robert was very solicitous and made sure we were comfortable. Breakfasts were home cooked and VERY filling. Be warned, you might be overwhelmed by the quantities! Prior to our arrival we had very precise and clear directions on how and where to park (parking is very tight) which was helpful. The only 'warning' I would give is that there is no lift so might be difficult for less mobile visitors and the property is on a very steep hill. Local taxis were excellent however!
