Booked in for a diving course and needed a single en-suite room, just for basic accommodation. For the price it surpassed that. The owner Hugh was friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. The full breakfast was lovely. For the price you would find it hard to beat this.

At £25 for a single room and a slap up breaksfast(English breakfast, cereals etc) with waitress service - how can you complain? Ring the hotel direct for this rate as laterooms for some reason does not advertise it. The double and family roms are also of similar good value. The place is the best value hotel I have stayed at...

My partner and I booked a 3 night stay at the Royal Hotel, we arrived and met the owner who booked us in and offered us free parking. I am afraid to say that is where the positives ended. We have stayed in many hotels and guest houses so I feel that this review is a true reflection of our...

The positives - friendly enough. Very clean and comfortable bed, TV with freeview channels, easy access at night The big negative - the heating was barely on and it was sinter. It came on and off but just not warm enough. The shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold - when I mentioned this to the proprietor he didnt...
