I have stayed at the Duke of Cornwall many times as a family member has spent 5 years at University in Plymouth and his Mum and I have visited often. It is an old building with the usual creaks and groans, like an old Duke of Cornwall. However I have always found the rooms clean and comfortable, the people helpful...

This is a well located hotel close to the Hoe and harbor eateries and pubs etc with private parking for residents. Checkin was efficient but unfortunately I couldn't get an early checkin which was a pain after extensive driving. Stayed in a room on first floor which is a ground floor at carpark level as hotel is on a slope....

Typical UK crap hotel with 80s decor. Food overpriced and unedible. Only staying here because it was booked by work. Needs an insurance fire....... good points.... close to wetherspoons and the pavilions

Thank you Laurie B for your frankly bizarre review. I'm not sure being the highest rated AA 3 star hotel in Plymouth, having an AA Rosette award for fine food, several national awards for staff accomplishment and training, 10 years of Investors in people, silver Green Tourism Award, just to name a few accolades, makes us a 'Typical UK crap...

This is a beautiful grand hotel which has managed to maintain the standards expected on it's hey day. The menu offered so many excellent choices.. Some being the old fashioned favourites and others modern day dishes. The staff which there seems to be plenty of could not be faulted. It was obvious to me they had all been trained by...

I stayed here for a business trip. It's near the town centre and next to a theatre. Quite possibly one of the noisiest places I've stayed in. I don't think it had double glazing although I may be wrong. Traffic noise kept me awake for 2 nights straight. The building itself is a gothic looking place but again it's so...

Room was really large, great walk in shower, loads of tea/coffee etc, really comfy bed with crisp linen. Breakfast on both mornings was 100% Claire the maitre d was really good. Don't...

Our room is beautiful with a four poster bed and lots of room. Immaculately clean with lots of tea and coffee. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet and also a large selection of hot food to order. The reasonably priced bar is nice to sit in, in the evenings. All staff are very polite, helpful and well informed on the...

Definitely seen better days. In my room, the dust lay thick on the carpet where the cleaner had skirted round the furniture, and the window was dirty inside and out. On the other hand, the tiny bathroom was spotless and the public rooms were tidy and comfortable. If I say the furniture was old, don't think antique, think 1950's! Having...

The Duke of Cornwall was established around 150 years ago and maintains the charm of a bygone era. Our room was small but had everything we needed including a couple of comfy armchairs. The rooms are individually decorated. Ours had yellow hydrangea wallpaper and fabrics and a luxurious blue and yellow carpet. The bathroom included a luxurious rainfall showerhead. We...
