Checked in to find they had messed up the booking, in compensation they gave half price breakfast for the 3 days. Got to the room (a suite) and no lights! Not missing bulbs, just no lights, all we had were 2 table lamps for both rooms. Bathroom was nice, clearly brand new, but the rest of the room was dated, dirty and the bedding had a shade of yellow. We went out and bought our own pillows, not sleeping on sweat stained ones for anybody. Next we ordered drinks at the bar, asked "what bitters do you have?" to be told "Guinness and Tetley's, but the Tetley's is off", then she went to answer the phone before finishing our order. Sat down for a meal, food was just OK, asked for vinegar, nothing, chased it twice, eventually got it as we finished eating. Asked for another Guinness, didn't get it on 3 times asking, the Manager eventually got it and gave us a bottle of wine for our trouble. Rain all night, but the water running down the building was crashing onto the window sill all night, there was a good puddle on the inside with rotting wood to show it's been happening for ages, good job we brought ear plugs. Breakfast, even at £6 each (half price) was nothing short of poor. Cold plates, cold food, terrible service, little to no hygiene going on and this is during Covid. A tip for future guests, don't pay for breakfast, just go and eat it anyway, nobody checks you in and there's no control. Staff, whilst pleasant clearly have little knowledge about what they are doing and a consistent inability to stick to doing one job well. If we hadn't been attending a wedding in this hotel, we would have gone elsewhere, even after a 350 mile journey. All in all, one to avoid and regardless even if there was nowhere else to stay, I would sleep in my car before staying here again..

We arrived on 3rd November and stayed over night, the room was most comfortable the restaurant served a very nice evening meal and a varied breakfast prior to leaving . This is not our first visit and am sure we will return. Well done Future Inns.

Used this regularly (lockdowns aside) and always delivers great service, beds and a warm welcome. Breakfasts are good, staff are friendly, plenty of car parking and normally availability - does get busy around Uni Open Days so beware!

Place needs a refurb. Beds not great, pillows awful. Customer service slow, not enough on duty gives feeling that place is being run on the cheap side. Food nothing more than edible. Overall I wouldn't stay again.

Stayed in Plymouth last week, we noticed there were no robes or slippers in room, and enquired to the duty manager if it was just an oversight, he said that during Covid they were removed and won’t be coming back, well it’s still on your website that these items are available, I replied, I know, he said this very difficult to remove it from our website. Not really the answer a Manager should be giving to a patron of their establishment. Also the cooked breakfast the two mornings we tried it were cold, plates cold and the dishes under the heated lamps must have been cold, as the waitress and waiter were moving the dishes about under them with the bare hands and also lifting the metal spoon used for the scrambled eggs again were used with bare hands. Hot, not!! We have written to the Manager of the Plymouth establishment but no reply even when we called them, they promised us a reply, still nothing. Disappointed, we have stayed here many times before, as partner has family there, will not be using them again.
