My wife and i attended a convention at the Palace for over 300 people who all had a four course dinner. All the food arrived together was hot and very well presented. The food was excellent the servers were polite and very competent. Nothing was too much trouble. We were well impressed and look forward to the convention being held...

Could be a five start hotel but maintenance of rooms and some facilities is not up do scratch. Staff need more training to be guest focused. Good location for walks in the area but taxi or car needed to reach Railway Station and main Torquay Harbor area.

Needs a makeover badly. Very sad. Everywhere needs redecorating, it feels like it is falling apart and that it has not been touched for decades. Cell phone very limited. Internet only in the lobby and SLOW. So slow. Front desk has a trainee or someone who has not been trained, did not know the basics. Limited towels. Lumpy soft bed....

Like others, we have stayed here, off and on, for many years sometimes in large groups for family reunions but also in smaller numbers. Like one or two reviews below, we have been reluctant to be overly critical notwithstanding the peeling paint and declining facilities. However, this time the quality of the breakfast (previously really good) was very poor as...

We have been to this hotel for many years and we have never been disappointed. A bold statement I know but we have so many fond memories of this place. It is in the throws of trying to find a new owner so I'm afraid it is a bit 'faded glory'. Never the less, the food is always excellent and...

When you have been so enthusiastic about a hotel, it is with great reluctance if you have to offer criticism. But after many lovely visits to this hotel, it is time to bite the bullet! People can, and do, criticise the place for being 'old fashioned'. Well maybe - if you are accustomed to Premier Inns and the like. But...

My husband and I booked this hotel as we toured Devon and Cornwall. One look at the decor of the allocated room and we about turned and asked for a refund, we were offered a change of room, which we reluctantly accepted. The hotel was advertised as AA 4 star, however I would question when this was awarded. The public...

Went for hot chocolates after a sunset walk along the seafront. Beautiful views from the orangerie, comfortable seating and lovely quiet atmosphere. Service was however slow (but pleasant) particulalrly given how quiet they were and drinks relatively pricy!

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, gardens are beautiful and we had a lovely view from our room. Hotel however is extremely outdated, could do with a repaint and some modernising. Breakfast was the worst point of our stay, sausages were hard, bacon was fatty, eggs uncooked and hash browns were hard. I don't think I'd stay there again. The...
