First impressions excellent as the ground floor of the hotel is beautiful with plenty of space. I was met with a warm reception and it was no issue to leave my luggage until I checked in later that day. On entering my single room later that evening my impressions sunk as the furniture in room was old and the main...

After a long trip from the north I arrived at the palace hotel (surely a tongue in cheek name) to possibly the worst hotel room I've seen. The decor was dated, the TV only had 3 channels and was the size of my dashboard sat Nav. The bath water came out of the tap brown and to round things off...

It was a long weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had a well appointed large bedroom en suite. It has recently been refurbished. Very comfortable extra king size bed. Lovely views of the grounds and outside pool. Views of the sea too. Also has large inside pool and all leisure facilities. Food first class.

This is a wonferful hotel of which I am very fond. However, in the last two years things have started to decline rapidly. Whilst the entire hotel needs a top down refurbishment, in the meantime the routine upkeep was, in the past, always excellent. Cracks, scuffs and all the other little dilapidations would be touched up so that the place...

Me and my husband recently stayed at the palace hotel for our wedding night. The room desperately needed new decor with it being very dated, but the worst part was the cleanliness of the room.. There were really big thick cobwebs on the curtain drapes which had obviously been there a while, there were dead bugs on the window sills...

What a delightful "old world" hotel. It is full of distinction from its 9 hole par 3 golf course to its lovely lounge with the lofted decorative ceilings. With its old world charm and polite service it is a favourite with older people but it also has tennis, table tennis, snooker, golf swimming pools and acres of grounds which makes...

This hotel is, sadly, extremely dated. The whole place hasn't been properly maintained for some time. The wallpaper peels, the carpets are bare and the "gym" has about half the equipment missing. What's more, the staff don't help. On our first morning we arrived at breakfast 15 minutes before the end of the service time, asked if they were still...

Just returned from another relaxing short break at our favourite Torquay hotel. Yes,it has changed considerably over the 30 years during which we and many of our friends have been loyal and returning guests. The high quality of the food in the impressive restaurant, friendliness of the staff and management, amazing 21 acres of immaculately kept Italianate garden with its 9 hole...

What a wonderful building The room, dining room and bar were lovely. Food very nice. The grounds were extensive and beautifully laid out. It took some while to walk around them. There was also a cove that could be accessed from the grounds.

Had a great week end break. The hotel is ideally situated for Torquay and Babbacombe their grounds are well kept and a joy to walk around. The hotel does need some refurbishment the bedrooms (130) are comfortable but could be improved by a larger TV screen. The bathroom is a decent size and the hotel provides some toiletries Tea and...
