For a 3 night stag do Brampton is perfect. The hosts are extremely accommodating considering we spent our weekend plastered and frequently came in when the sun was coming up. Location is less than 10 minutes from the town centre on foot and it's a short cab ride home! A cosy, well priced and well stocked bar with lovely views...

To be clear I booked this on a tight budget so wasn't expecting luxury, but would like to think I could get value for money. I feel bad for the owner as he seemed like a genuine guy and I spent a relaxed evening in the lounge with him and his friend in the lounge area. Family run hotel and...

After arriving and meeting the owners and staff, all I can say after being in many hotels around the UK and abroad, I can say without contradiction that this is the most pleasant one we have stayed in. Phil and Graham have the sharpest wit I have had the luck (misfortune) to encounter in any hotel environment, and they went...

In one word....TERRIBLE. There should be standards regardless of how much you pay. Upon arrival we were told our 2 small dogs wernt allowed in the bedroom unattended and could we leave them in the car. It was so hot the weekend that it would have been senseless and dangerous to have done that so they made up a small...

This hotel is a little dated and the reception area could be spruced up a little, but it was clean and the bed was comfy, the staff and owner were all helpfull, nice and full of friendly banter. We enjoyed our stay here and would come back. If you want a boutique hotel this is not for you but if...

If you've got a sense of humour, this is for you. If you require the waiting staff to be subservient and deferential, forget it. On the other hand, if you like a good old earthy banter in the bar, you will like this (if you're a northerner you are more likely to understand the humour - but we southerners got...

I stayed at this hotel once and enjoyed my stay.. Then I booked another room for later in the year,, complications came across and I had to cancell the room.. My money still hasn't been refunded after weeks! No one has replied to me, as to this I'm having to take it further!! so if you are like me and...

It's quite hard to pin this place down, as the excellent food is offset somewhat by the oft-mentioned "banter" and some tired-looking decor. Having said that admittedly it's hard to complain too much as the rates are very cheap. I travelled alone and I'd rung up earlier in the week to check that I could leave a bag with them...

Very rude arrogant imprudent people with no sense of respect or understanding. Disgusting would be a better word. A mere misunderstanding over the phone gives the right to receptionist to shout at you on the phone. You almost feel like the hotel or rather the dump is doing you a favour by allowing you to stay there rather than the...
