This was our first visit to the Elmdene. We were looking for a small and nice quiet Hotel on the Southcoast following a cruise out of Southampton. Because we were unfamiliar with Torquay area we choose to book the hotel based on trip advisor reviews by other travelers. It turned out we did the right thing. From the moment we...

This Victorian house has been modernized in a very tasteful way making it very well suited to vacation accommodation. The owners are a very likeable and helpful couple, who gratifyingly are also excellent cooks. The weather was not good when we stayed but they suggested some great ideas for things to do. The highlight was a steam train-bus-boat round trip...

Just on our way home from a weeks stay in room 5, lovely place with great hosts. Room absolutely spotless, bar area lovely, breakfasts absolutely delicious. Really close to the beach and town, visited some lovely places nearby too. Only disappointment was the weather but you can't book that!! Would definitely return .

We stayed at the Elmdene for 10 days in June. The accommodation was second to none. Andy and Carol were the perfect hosts, very friendly and couldn't do enough to make it the perfect holiday. The Elmdene ticks all the boxes and more.

Stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday- the weather was fantastic. On arrival we were greeted on arrival by Andy who brought us a very welcome pot of tea to our room. We stayed in room 4 at the back of the house and although we didn't have great views from the two windows the spacious, bright and...

Andy and Carol are superb friendly hosts. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is the best we've eaten in a B&B, all the ingredients being sourced locally. We were sad to leave and will definitely be back! Mick & Sarah. x

Andy and Carol could not do better. We will not forget our most enjoyable and comfortable stay at The Elmdene which could serve as a model of excellence for every B&B in the Country. We don't know how they managed it AND remained hospitable and SMILING! We thank them both and extend our Best Wishes. Eileen & Gerry Clarke
