I spent the weekend in the Dorset, Bournemouth area for a Christmas party with my old staff members. While i had a great time. I would like to commend the cumberland hotel and their staff for housing me. The room was clean, spacious and the view was fabulous. The staff was very helpful and polite and the food, let me just say comments to the staff in the kitchen.
Great administration, excellent food (particularly wonderful soup and best Christmas Pudding ever). Very good service, what more can I say. Never fails to make an event special. Already reserved a date for next year.
Stayed 1 night in a standard single on 1st floor. My rest and sleep was disturbed by people next door making lots of loud sex, including cries of pain. Left the hotel at 5am. Will not stay again. Will not recommend to friends.
I normally stay at Cumberland for leisure but this was the first time i had an opportunity to attend a work event at the Cumberland and once again it it met all our expectations and beyond. The staff was amazing and attentive. Special thanks to Managers Zack, Kevin and Argha for looking after the Illuminet team throughout our three days of the event. Thank you Jo Pow for doing all the background work and sorting all the minor details and changes and Lesley for bearing with us for room bookings and being efficient in allocation. A special thanks also goes to all the front office (Michaela and Tom) and back office staff for make sure we did not had any issues throughout our stay. Thank you Mr Malik for coming and checking on us frequently. We are looking forward for our events in December as well as the Christmas parties !! In one word WELL DONE !!…
I stayed at the Cumberland for 4 nights in November 22, whilst attending a work event there. I can not fault the staff in any way, they were so helpful on both personal and business requirements and nothing was too much trouble and always delivered with a smile. I am gluten free and the food was brilliant, they made a real effort with the daily lunch buffets and ach day was interesting and different with some very nice choices. The room (sea view) was perfect and the evening meals of a really good standard.
Another visit to our favourite Dorset hotel. The Cumberland never disappoints. Beautiful Art-Deco hotel facing the sea with panoramic seaviews, located on Bournemouth's East Cliff. Spotlessly clean rooms and excellent food in both the Ventana and Mirabelle restaurants. We were fortunate to have a seafacing room with balcony. Yesterday the November sunshine was warm enough for us to take advantage of sitting outside on the balcony. This hotel is well worth a visit, once you've tried it you will be back again and again!!
I attended a caberat evening function which included a three course meal of which there was plenty of choice re every course. The meal was faultless as were the staff polite, efficient, smart nothing too much trouble. Evidently the general manger is good to work for/with as this is reflected in the staffs attitude and lovely atmosphere of the hotel.
Beggining to get a bit shabby now but pleasant and nicely decorated. Rooms were comfortable and decent size and the breakfast was ok for a buffet style. Only complaint was the plethora of rules and regulations threatening financial penalties should you misbehave in the hotel, including a £100 deposit for the room returnable after inspection of the room ! Quite ironic as there were two raucous parties going on in the hotel when we returned for a quiet drink and we were 'bothered' by a couple of very drunk girls from one of these parties. Also, the lift was bust and we had to tote our bags up to the 4th floor.
The staff are very attentive. Beautiful building decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Had a beautiful 3 course dinner in the restaurant. The starter main and dessert were all top notch. Quality food and service was excellent. Would be very happy to return.
The Cumberland Hotel is the perfect location to explore Bournemouth. The Hotel furnishings and facilities create a cozy but professional environment. The Staff go out of their way to accommodate one's ever need. Would highly recommend it.
