We booked a two-night stay family room and found ourselves in Coastguard cottage (parking space outside, great), a nice big room with two double beds. Views onto the front lawn and seafront, very pleasing. Bathroom was roomy, everything worked well, so no complaints. The room was comfortable and very warm, perhaps in need of a little TLC but overall good. Tea and coffee in room but no little extras, pity. The hotel staff are excellent, table service was first class but bar service on a busy Saturday night was at times slow, staffing levels may be an issue. We didn't think breakfast was value for money, reasonable choice but quality varied. Dinner on the other hand was enjoyable with a good choice menu. Gratuities are included on the bill unless you ask for removal when ordering. Being charged to park onsight was an issue. We would certainly stay there again.

A very nice welcome. Room was very warm, so warm that I had to put the air con on in November…in England. No warm Water to the sink in the bathroom. Room old, needs a modernisation. It’s a great shame as the welcome was great and set it all off on the right foot

We booked. Two night stay whilst attending a friends wedding. We treated ourselves to a Superior Sea View, king size room. Well it had a sea view, which is where the description stops. The rooms was extremely dated and had two very old arm chairs both threadbare and one had actual tears in the arms. For the price paid. I would expect small luxuries such as biscuits, cups and not paper cups, better towels and possibly bathrobes…. The en suite door was a sliding affair and wobbled, did not close properly and very poor fit - the en suite was clearly fitted for elderly residents as grab handles everywhere. We really aren’t fuss pots, but we booked the Raymond Blanc Brasserie and were equally disappointed. The starter was excellent but the main and dessert where very poor, . On a positive note, the staff throughout the hotel were excellent

We have just returned from a 1 night stay attending a Ball in their Dorchester suite on the Saturday evening. The service and food were of a very high standard considering how many they were serving. We checked in and out with Paul on reception and he really made the difference to our stay. He was very professional and helpful. Would definitely come again and would highly recommend.

Great location with spectacular views over Bournemouth pier and beach. The rooms are quite average and not of very high standard; and I have booked a superior room. Restaurant is good and also its staff, which cannot be said about the reception.
