We booked the Balincourt after receiving a gift voucher for a night away. We upgraded to a superior room and it was lovely. Huge comfy bed, lively and warm, lots of nice touches like bottled water, mints and the usual tea/coffee facilities but a decent selection with biscuits. The breakfast was excellent- freshly cooked and hot rather than the lukewarm...

This was given to us as a present so we were not really sure what to expect and as we entered the reception area , the decor was dated and our hearts sunk. However, our room was very large, modern and bright. The bed was large and very comfy. There was excellent attention to detail in the room e.g. an...

Spent two nights here at the end of October. Ground floor room was quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was really excellent. Parking was a little tight as the guest house was full. We didn't realise the heat would stay on all night and so roasted a bit on our first night, but once the radiator was off we had...

We stayed for one night earlier this week. The hotel is very nicely decorated, clean, warm and comfortable. There were fresh flowers in the room, bone china cups and saucers, chocolates, bottled water and biscuits. We didn't meet the lady proprietor as we assume she was cooking breakfast, but the male proprietor was courteous and attentive. Very good breakfast too!...

The Balincourt is an older building which has been sympathetically updated and attractively decorated. The public rooms are well furnished and have all the amenities you could want. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were modern and tastefully fitted. The hot water (for the shower) was hot and at a consistent temperature. There are lots of little touches to make you...

We booked a room here last minute on late rooms! The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable! They also recommended a good steak house to visit! What else can I say! Great Job!

The Balincourt is a delightful Victorian building. It is extremely well kept, with a great attention to detail. There was a set of quality toiletries in the en-suite, including a shoe buffer and a sewing kit. Bone china cups and saucers plus a teapot, and an excellent selection of teas, fruit teas, coffees, hot chocolate and Horlicks were provided in...

A fantastic place to stay. Very polite and friendly. We can't praise the hosts enough. The room we stayed in was nice, clean and had loads of little extras, water, extra towels, blankets, hairdryer. Simply top notch hotel. And they let us check in early.

We booked to come to this hotel at the end of October for one night as we were meeting friends and didn't want the long drive home. A few days after booking they tried to take the money from my account I was a little shocked as we stay in lots of hotels and always pay on checking out not...
