Just what you would expect from an Old Rectory, lovely rooms, especially the bathroom, good breakfast. only criticisms, it wold have been nicer to have 100% cotton sheets and fresh fruit rather than tinned for breakfast

We have been going back to the Old Rectory for the last 6 years. We love the Dorchester area and for us it is the perfect place to stay. Caroline & Gordon always make us most welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotlessly clean with full tea trays and the bathrooms with good quality complimentary toiletries.... We had a lovely stay at the old rectory whilst visiting for a wedding. The location is about 15 minute drive from Dorchester in a quintessential English village (complete with tiny old church and sweet, mind the duck signs). We stayed in the smallest room. (I would say the photo of our room on their website is completely an accurate... More

The Old Rectory is a wonderful B&B! My husband and I just returned from the UK, and we spent 3 nights at the Old Rectory. The historical house was delightful and set in lovely grounds. Our en-suite room had lovely furniture, a comfortable bed and covers, a tea tray, and a large, modern bathroom. Guests have their own sitting room... More

We are from the US and stayed at the Old Rectory for 4 nights in May 2016. The location is great and very quiet in a very small village, yet only a few minutes from Dorchester and other sites we visited where we especially liked the Swannery just a few miles away. We stayed in the Dorchester room and found... More

My husband and I have recently returned from our fourth stay at The Old Rectory. Caroline is the Hostess with the Mostess. Her guests are made to feel as comfortable as they would be at home. Her hospitality is second to none and what she doesn't know about the local area isn't worth knowing. The Old Rectory is in the... More

Visited The Old Rectory for an extended weekend stay whilst attending a family wedding. We arrived quite late but were welcomed in and shown to a beautiful room with the biggest bathroom we have ever seen! Fell asleep straight away as the bed was so comfy. Breakfast included everything you could want and was cooked to order so was always... More

Hi Karen - thanks for the lovely review and yes I have used the cake stand. The bulb table decoration I have planted outside so hopefully they will come up again and flower next year! So glad you all had a lovely time at the wedding. More

The Old Rectory is perfectly positioned for many delightful local attractions. My daughter & I met for a weekend and we visited Dorchester, Weymouth & Lyme Regis. Caroline knows the area very well and had so many recommendations for us to try. We were very comfortable and enjoyed a delicious breakfast which set us up for the rest of the... More
