Mary provides everything for a perfect stay - toiletries, tissues, needle and cotton, hairspray etc - and if you can't find what you need, Mary will get it. Our bedroom overlooked the garden and the bed was very comfortable and the shower particularly efficient. Breakfasts were superb - loose tea and proper coffee, gorgeous home-made muesli or fruit salad, home-made...

We spent 2 nights at Rose Cottage for our anniversary, Mary was a wonderful host, welcoming us with a cup of tea on our arrival. Breakfast was superb, the famous museli we had read about was lovely. Mary kindly gave me the recipe... Couldn't fault our room, the bed was so comfortable with all the little extras. If we ever...

Mary could not have been more welcoming and patient! As a family with 2 young kids, it can get pretty chaotic at times but Mary was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious (especially the home-made raspberry jam). We had a really lovely stay and would definitely go back.

We've stayed at the lovely Rose Cottage for 3 nights at a time, six times this year 2016 whilst studying in Sherborne. Mary has given us a warm, friendly welcome every time and is so kind and thoughtful. She thinks of everything to make our stays perfect. We've stayed in both rooms at different times and have found them always...

The breakfasts were delicious with home made jam, marmalade, muesli and fruit salad. I can recommend Mary's poached eggs! As a host Mary is very...

We loved our stay at Rose Cottage. Mary is very hospitable and nice. She made us extremely welcome and allowed us to stay during the day when we had work to do. My husband and I stayed with Mary at Rose Cottage for a weekend while attending a wedding in Sherborne. We were able to park in the road opposite the cottage. The weather was pretty awful for April - hail storms etc., but Rose Cottage was snug and warm, the bed amazingly comfortable, lovely tea, coffee and biscuits available. Mary was the...

Mary's home is a homely place to stay, and she is a very welcoming and thoughtful host: nothing is too much trouble for her. She provided a delicious breakfast, and is very happy to adapt (e.g. vegetarian option or a lighter breakfast on the day when we knew we were going out for a large lunch). She puts a small...
