As the title suggest the location of this place is amazing. Right on a hilltop overlooking Swanage bay there is no better place in my opinion. The staff here are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are of a very good size with very nice high ceilings. I love the spa facilities which helped after a days hike. We are in... More

Just got back from a 5 night stay at the wonderful old Grand Hotel. Yes, it could do with a little refurb but too much would ruin the splendour of what is a historic Victorian hotel. You could imagine the Victorian ladies walking around in their swishy dresses in years gone by. Warm comfy room with breath taking views across... More

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at the Grand Hotel. Again it was excellent, with all staff being professional, friendly and cheerful, the room spacious and clean, lovely food, and views to die for. Nothing negative to say about this super hotel.

A 2 night DB&B break in a lovely hotel oozing history and charm with the best location in Swanage and tremendous views across the bay. Warm, comfy room - attentive staff with ample, tasty and original menus for breakfast and dinner. We'll be back

We are regular customers at the grand hotel in swanage. As always the food was excellent, congratulations to the chef. The staff are all very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The bedroom was lovely and warm and confortable and we had been upgraded to a sea view. We made use of the gym and pool whilst there and... More

We have recently celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary at the Grand Hotel in Swanage with an afternoon high tea. It was amazing! Attention to detail was second to none and the tea itself was superb. There were an assortment of delicately made sandwiches, a variety of beautiful cakes , including fresh warm scones, clotted cream and jams and many pots... More

I love this wonderful old Hotel which oozes with character, wonderful architecture, stained glass windows and breathtaking gardens and sea views. The spa, although small and dated, is my favourite spa to swim and relax in the hot tub and sauna. I love the friendly relaxed and helpful staff who are always ready to welcome you with a smile. The... More

Many of the reviews we looked at before booking at the Grand referred to the need for some TLC and investment in the fabric of the building and decoration, all true, but....... Fantastic location, and our rooms had the most wonderful views over Swanage Bay and the Purbeck Hills, (complemented by some cracking lat autumn sunshine and unseasonably warm weather!... More

Great location if you don't want to be in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of central Swanage. Very close to the beach and excellent sea views around the hotel grounds and rooms. The staff were patient, welcoming and accommodating at all times. Above average for a three star hotel I would say, although a bit non visible... More
