A beautiful room with a sea view. Everything in the room you could need a a comfortable bed. A stones throw from the sea and in walking distance of Hove and Brighton. You feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Perfect.
Good location, warm & friendly service, good breakfast and nice bar. However, room was small - had to pile clothes on the chair as there’s nowhere to store them. This was a comfy room so not sure what the smaller ones are like. Lighting very poor - you can’t see in the mirror as there’s no light near by. Bathroom could do with a good clean - the taps and floor especially. I could write my name in the dust on the bedside table. Teabags and milk weren’t replenished each day - so I always had to request more from the bar. I could live with the room being small if it was well appointed and maintained but in its current state, it isn’t good value for money. Wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame as bar, restaurant and the staff were great. Let down by rubbish housekeeping and maintenance. …
A small hotel totally different from your regular place. Based around two terraced house, on four floors with ping pong table in the basement. There is a small slow moving lift which was out of action the day we left. Rooms have been decorated by local artists, which on occasions can be quirky but also refreshing. The room we experiences had a bathroom a little short on hanging space for clothes or towels, but a great shower and plenty of luxury jells and towels. But beware of the squeaky floorboards. Breakfast at extra cost is of good quality but not exceptional in variety. The staff were particularly accommodating and welcoming. A place the return to.
Had the stay booked for ages as part of a voucher for our honeymoon. We have since had a baby and so this was a much needed break. It’s in a perfect location for Brighton - walking distance to beach, good eateries and drink spots. The room was super comfortable and great bar options. The hotel was thankfully very quiet / little noise and we enjoyed a great nights sleep. Two issues; one was the smell of drains in the bathroom, old building - so imagine it comes with difficulties to maintain. A heavy diffuser would certainly help. The second is the position of the TV, which the bed frame obscures.
The bed is incredibly comfortable. Great breakfast, great location, great cocktails and great staff. My only comment would be it’s an old building and not well soundproofed so we woke early to guests walking around on the floor above.
this place is a gem. goreous room , every need thought of , fromt he toothpaste to the Fresh milk in the fridge. 5 stars for comfort style friendliness. breakfast delisious and the perfect location for a sea dip too. Highly recommen
Great location, near the i360 and old West Pier. The lively hub of Brighton is a short (10 minute) walk away, with dozens of pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. The Artist Residence is fabulous (this was our third visit). Comfy, quirky and eccentric. Staff are friendly and provide great advice on what to see and do nearby. Will definitely go again.
Very enjoyable stay! The hotel itself is lovely and decorated really nice. Appreciated the little details such as the toiletries and chocs in the room. Location is perfect, right on the beach front and near all the shops and bars. A point deducted because its very loud at night with people walking up and down the stairs / slamming doors etc. But other than that was great!
We always look for the quirkier hotels rather than the generic chains, and boy did we win out with the Artists Residence Brighton. An upgrade on arrival from a Comfy Balcony Seaview to the room I really coveted, the Bigger balcony Seaview (with copper soaking tub) was like winning the lottery. Our room wasn't ready as we'd arrived very early after travelling overnight from Edinburgh, so we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and they happily stored our bags while we went out exploring and walked WAY too far along the coast and back through the Brighton laneways. On arriving back at the hotel in the late afternoon, we found our bags in our room, the little radio in our room playing some cool jazz and we couldn't drag ourselves away, so grabbed some local takeaway fish and chips, a couple of drinks from the bar downstairs and sat at the little table by the window and took in the sunset. The little touch of lavender spray for your pillowcase meant we slept like babies. Book the Artists Residence for your next romantic getaway and you won't be disappointed.…
Excellent, stylish hotel. A very welcoming experience with helpful staff. On first arrival you may be fooled into thinking its a little on the small side but the more you explore the more fun and quirky things you'll discover. Great location, minutes from the attractions of Brighton.
