My wife & I recently had a baby and it was so brutal seeing her go through all that so thought it would be really nice for her to go to the spa to chill. This wasn't the case tho. I booked the voucher about 6 months ago and then when she tried to actually use the voucher and go they said it was closed because it was being renovated which is fine. She then had to wait till it was back open and could get an appointment which suited her but trying to get an appointment was a mission in itself no one ever picked up the phone and we had to email and wait days just to get a response. She then was able to get a spot which was today and she went while I took care of the bubba. She went down and has just got back more stressed than when she left. Right from the beginning when waiting at the reception the woman behind the desk was being very rude to a guest and made out that they were dumb or something just because they didn't understand them. This really upset my wife because she is also new to England and it's not fair to be little to someone just because they don't understand you. That being said her masseuse was lovely and she said they did a lovely job but from that point onwards you are on your own. No one really gives you a rundown of the spa area and she didn't expect it to be as messy and vibeless as it was. There was a man with a speaker in the sauna blaring out music there were used towels and cups all over the place and it seems that the renovations was clearly done by a cowboy builder because there was a lot of broken bits. Plus the sauna was dirty which was very unexpected. I know it might sound like I'm expecting too much and maybe I am but I'm not even the sort of person to care about any of this stuff tbh don't think I've ever written a review before but yeah just think if you're trying to promote your self as a spa please understand that people are booking this to try and be pampered and have a nice peaceful experience to get away from there stresses. I know it's just a job and I have been there where I work somewhere and don't have a huge love for the job I'm doing but I pride myself on giving my customers a pleasant experience because it's only fair and would love for The staff and harbour hotel to just please re-evaluate its self and maybe pay more attention to the little things which make a huge difference. …
We had a lovely stay at the Brighton Harbour Hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming & very helpful.. The hotel itself was very clean and our room was fantastic with a beautiful sea view. The added extras like access to the gym & pool, WiFi, complimentary gin and even an umbrella in our wardrobe, which thankfully we didn’t need to use during our stay were very much appreciated extra touches. I did use the spa and booked a back massage with Victoria which I have to say was the best back massage I’ve ever had & I’ve had a few in my time.. We will definitely be returning in the future.
We stayed as a couple on a Friday night, booked well in advance and direct through the hotel for the best rate. We paid nearly £200 for room only so for that I expected a certain level of quality. The hotel in general is of a good standard. We didn't eat or drink there but the bar and restaurant looked pleasant enough. The Spa facilities are a nice bonus, but were very popular on the day we stayed so it meant we were limited to use of the smallish pool as some of the other facilities were either out of action or fully occupied. The disappointment for me was the room itself. It was only just big enough to fit the bed in, which made it awkward for 2 people to move around in. This should have been a single room, not a double and certainly not a King. The doors of the fitted wardrobes were broken, which meant having to wrestle them open in what little space you had to move in. The layout of the room was poor, with some plug sockets halfway up a wall with no table underneath (because you couldnt physically fit one in the space) and the only mirror being at the dark end of the room between entrance and bathroom, with no plug sockets for a hairdryer near it. There was an ironing board in the wardrobe but I've no idea how you'd find a space to use it. The decor was modernish, but the finish was poor, especially in the bathroom where some very amateur tiling had been carried out. Perhaps this is what your money buys you in a place like Brighton where prices are high, but I have certainly stayed in substantially better rooms for a fraction of the cost. Not one I would return to for an overnight stay, unfortunately.…
We booked an afternoon spa experience with lunch, treatment and a glass of Prosecco and wasn’t disappointed. From arrival to departure the staff and facilities were great. Lunch was lovely and plenty to choose from within the £25 allowance, tho service was slow they were attentive and friendly. The spa was set over two basement levels, pools on the first lower level and hot tubs, sauna, steam and cold buckets down the next flight of stairs. The atmosphere was cosy, subtle lighting with plenty of fresh cool water stations. The staff were lovely, I had a facial with Sharon and she was so good, I fell asleep. Our spa was due to finish at6 but we weren’t rushed out at all. If I was to put negatives in, I would mention the changing rooms could be repaired in places, skirting boards, metal fuse plates rusted. The steam room had a strange but not unpleasant aroma and had bits on the floor which made it feel a bit unclean, and could use a revamp.…
The room was comfortable & adequate. Great for the money, good selection at breakfast. The best part was the hour long back massage from a very talented & experienced Sharon. I would revisit if not for the rooms but definitely for the friendly staff.
Everything about this hotel is wonderful. Receptionist very welcoming & friendly. The room was beautiful & spotlessly clean. The restaurant & bar staff very attentive. Breakfast was great. What more could you want from a hotel? Would HIGHLY recommend!!
Hello, The bed was very comfortable. I was wondering if possible to share what brand of mattress you are using as I can't remember. I would like to buy the same mattress :) The spa was good. We enjoyed our stay.
I had a wonderful 2 night stay. I was in room 108 on the 1st floor. I was attending a convention nearby so I chose the cheapest room which was small but very comfortable. I wasn't intending to spend any time in my room so I didn't mind. It was wall facing but they had cleverly covered up the poor view with gorgeous wooden blinds. You would have no idea where you were. Very clever. Bed was really comfortable. Only downsides where there was only 1 plug socket so I had to choose between charging my phone or using the hairdryer lol. In this day and age with all the gadgets we need more plug sockets please! Also the toilet was "bijoux" haha The sink is over the toilet so if you're a curvy gal like me I had to slide under the sink to sit on the loo. Overall it was a fantastic stay. The buffet breakfast is spot on. I enjoyed it so much. The staff are lovely and helpful. The spa is to die for. Set in the amazing underground tunnels which I didn't know existed complete with iron prison doors. I was totally in love. A very unique experience. I will definitely be a returning customer. 10/10…
Spa is below the average. This package includes the restaurant meal. The service in the restaurant is absolutely awful as well as meal. Staff is rude. I have been told that my package includes only £25 of the restaurant meal. That should be clarified in the package…. I ordered coffee and cake. Coffee had been served well advance before cake arrived….Had to make a choice either to drink cold coffee with a cake or hot coffee without a cake…..
I booked for my husbands 60 th. We stayed on a Sunday night and had the dinner bed and breakfast. We have stayed here before and came back as we loved it but sadly this experience was very different. It wasn’t all bad but I just feel a few things were lacking. We were upgraded for free which was a lovely touch. The room was lovely and bed very comfy as always. There was no Sherry in the room which was stated on the website. The remote control wasn’t working which wasn’t too big a deal . We went to the spa which is beautiful. Unfortunately the sauna was out of action as was one of the hot tubs. None of this was bought to our attention on check in. The meal was a set menu but the only main meal offered was a roast dinner. Again not a massive issue except there was no stuffing or bread sauce as stated on my plate and the vegetables were all hard and almost raw including the cauliflower cheese which was not cheesy at all. My husbands beef was pretty much all fat and chewy. The starters and desserts were lovely. We had breakfast which was lovely but again no black pudding on the breakfast which should have been mentioned to us when we ordered that they had run out. They were also doing building work in the restaurant and parts were boarded up which spoils the view of the promenade. An email before we came to just make us aware would have been nice.…
