A reasonably priced, comfortable, clean hotel on sea front. The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, was only in Brighton for the one night this time but would definitely stay here again and for longer. I didn’t have breakfast or get to try the restaurant as I had other plans, had a drink in the bar which was very pleasant.

My husband and I booked to visit Brighton as I had received concert tickets at the Brighton centre as a present. We choose the Mercure hotel for its location and parking available onsite albeit charged at £25 per night. Also because of an offer of two nights with dinner included for one night for a reasonable price.we telephoned the company prior to booking to ensure we could eat on either night which we were assured was no problem. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice young lady to check us in.whilst discussing our details and requirements for breakfast and request for room servicing a very rude manager (Monty) left his client to speak over our receptionist telling us we had to eat on first night. We explained that we had previously spoken to someone prior to booking but we were told it had to be the first night so that it would encourage us to spend more money at the hotel after.we explained that due to concert we were unable to eat that evening and suggested a refund for that part of the offer. We we’re then again told very aggressively that we would never find food in Brighton for £22 per person! We felt that the way Monty spoke to us in front of other clients and staff members was totally unacceptable. We said we felt he was being very unpleasant but he was very arrogant and obviously didn’t care. The young lady apologised on his behalf later as she obviously felt very embarrassed by his attitude and behaviour. Consequently we didn’t spend any further money at hotel.

This hotel is an absolute gem! The seafront location offers breathtaking views from the bar, restaurant and some of the rooms. We visited during the festive season and the Christmas decorations made the hotel look even more charming. The interior is very tasteful, I loved all the artwork, felt like walking into an art gallery. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and look forward to returning.

Nice few days break in Brighton. Privilege room ok, not particularly big but good king size bed. Bathroom needed radiator or heated towel rail as too cold to be comfortable. Hotel lobby/lounge beautiful interiors Good breakfast, hotel staff all efficient helpful and friendly, would stay again.

Really nicely decorated hotel. Friendly staff. Felt very Christmassy which was lovely. Good price. The pillows are terrible, one rock solid pillow and one pillow that’s far too soft, ended up not using any and using a jumper instead which was far comfier. But all in all a nice hotel in a good location :) Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and for your lovely comments regarding the staff and the christmas decorations. I am sorry the pillows were not to your liking and of course we could have brought you more options had we been asked. I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel With kind regards Catherine
