Room was very nice, an additional easy chair and something to prevent the door banging through the night with the wind would have made it perfect. Room was a it noisy but that is to be expected given the location. We enjoyed a walk along the sea front and a visit to the pier. Lots of shopping in the lanes and surrounding shops.

The Old Ship is in a prime location on Brighton beach. Unfortunately the hotel car park was full and can't be pre booked but there is a car park a few hundred yards away which is £29 for a full 24 hour stay from arrival time. Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful. Our shower got stuck on but was immediately fixed. Breakfast offers a large variety of food. You can leave your bags the next day whilst you spend the day shopping, eating and sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel for its good value, good breakfast and the lovely staff.

Stayed at the beginning of a December for a visit to a concert. The hotel is a lovely old building right on the seafront and only a few minutes walk from the Brighton Centre, which was so nice when you’re coming out of a concert late in the evening and don’t want a drive home. The staff were very professional and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was excellent value for money. The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars was that it was quite noisy, with the hotel next door playing loud music until late, and having a noisy service area from early in the morning, but overall would definitely recommend and stay again! 😊

We arrived by car and managed to park in the hotel car park very helpful and friendly attendant. Reception was straight forward and welcoming . The room 417 was a sea view with a full bath/ shower The only complaint was that it was a non smoking room but smelt strongly of cigarette smoke so it was evident that previous guests had been flouting the rules and that this was,not noticed by housekeeping. We tried to air the room but the smell was still there on our second night. The breakfast was great and the dinner was also good. With excellent staff attention.

Dear Alan G, Thank you for you review. I am pleased to learn, that you stay with was a good one over all, and would like to thank you for taking the time to report this issue to us on the night. All bedrooms are no-smoking and anyone doing so will be fined. I strongly hope this would not deter you from staying with us again in the future. With kind regards, Miriam
