I came across the Steine through their sister hotel the Gullivers. I wanted to stay to run the Brighton Half, so something in-expensive and functional was all I wanted. I was greeted by the happiest receptionist who couldn't stop smiling at me, followed by a gentleman who I think was the Manager, who offered an early breakfast for my run...

Having stayed in Brighton a few times, I think that the quality of the hotels can a bit of a hit or miss affair. I stayed in the New Steine for two nights and was impressed. The room was a decent size and although on the ground floor by the front entrance, was not particularly noisy. Bedding and towels were...

Let me say that when I write these reviews for trip adviser there are some assumptions you need to make about what I want from a night in a hotel. 1. I stay there - I am not intending to buy it, nor move in on a long term basis 2. I completely understand the concept of value, versus what...

I recently stayed at this hotel for the second time in as many years, for valentines day. What a fantastic place! Booking is easy and all correspondence online and on the phone was great. On arrival the first time we were taken to room 112, which is downstairs. We were concerned at being taken down into what seemed to be...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review and I am so glad that the room was to your liking and that your enjoyed our breakfast (of which we pride ourselves). With regards your negatives, it is true that parking can be a nightmare in the city centre. It is unusual not to find a space in the dedicated zone parking...

Having spent the night in room 114 with my Wife I am very dissapointed in the comfort of the bed in a Deluxe suite. Dear Guest, I read with dismay your comments and I am sorry if your stay with us was not as expected. Terrific welcome, very friendly staff, great rooms and decor, enjoyable food from locally sourced ingredients. Two t-girls on a short break couldn't have asked for more, we had such a wonderful time I don't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody that wants a relaxing, enjoyable break.

Very good value for money, great location and staff helpful and friendly. Only 2 negatives BUT that is more to do with Brighton - there is no parking and the bathroom is small. Those are the reasons why only 4 stars but I would only give 5 if there was on site parking.
