I've stayed at Legends many times over many years and it keeps getting better. Stayed one night this week while in Brighton for a concert. Easy check-in. My room was compact (as expected based on what I'd booked) but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Polished taps in the bathroom were literally sparkling! Very comfortable bed. USB outlets at bedside tables - everywhere should have these! I had to do some work before heading out, the free WiFi was easy to connect to and fast. Went out to see Tidelines at the Komedia before coming back to the hotel. Caught the end of a drag show and had a beer in the bar at the end of the evening - the bar was quite lively for midweek. Breakfast in the morning was excellent - perfect poached eggs florentine. Where Legends really stands out these days is the staff - all so helpful and professional, really excellent customer service.

This is just so lovely and the perfect antedote for a grey and wet Brighton morning. Thank you so much. The staff are on cloud nine as a result and greatly looking forward to your next visit

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights, loved the room, ultra clean, great bathroom. There was entertainment on both nights after we had been out, so we enjoyed an hour in the bar. The breakfast was a bargain for £9.50 and cooked fresh to order, I’d definitely recommend staying and brekkie! I don’t get the moaners you can clearly see from the website/and reviews it’s going to be lively, it was and we loved it!

We could not put this better ourselves; we are super-clear that Legends will not be for everyone. This is such a lovely review and only matched by your being a gorgeous guest. We are very much looking forward to your next visit. Chef is chuffed too

This is misleading and by equal measure complete nonsense. To be clear our bar and club shut no later than 4AM at the weekend so if there was noise then it was not from Legends and that needs to be clearly understood. Of course, nothing was said whilst this so-called guest was in-house and with a meaningless 'handle' we are unable to follow up. It seems clear they picked entirely the wrong hotel for their needs and elected to bring their troubles with them

The place was awful , not very clean and the security staff are very rude , I wouldn't go back . I asked a security man a simple question and he was very rude and dismissed me . Love Brighton but I'll give Legends a miss next time .

Well we are at least agreed on one thing...that you will not be coming back. Our SIA registered team are of the highest quality so we do not accept what is being said, for very obvious reasons. With no substantive details of the alleged incident this "sound-bite" review is largely meaningless and objectionable by equal measure. As ever we invite this so-called patron to contact the venue directly so that we may better understand what is troubling them

We stayed at Legends for 3 nights in Feb staying on the 3rd floor. The room was fine for a base- comfortable bed with easy access to buses, the beach and great for entertainment in the evenings. We found that the shower was very temperamental, fluctuating between scalding hot and lukewarm regardless of what temp it was on and without touching it. We reported this the first night and the manager came to look but told us it was just sensitive. Unfortunately the issue wasn’t resolved while we were there. Additionally, we asked at the front desk whether we would be allowed an additional pillow each as they are quite thin. Later on, a gentleman brought the pillows to our room- they were cushions stuffed in a full size pillow case. We didn’t struggle with the noise of the club as others have reviewed but did find the soundproofing between the rooms to be an issue- we could hear a lady upstairs laughing most evenings as well as next door’s morning alarm going off. Finally, we were a little disappointed (as a female couple) to find no bin inside the bathroom and had to use the bin in the actual room for non-flushable items. The room and bathroom itself was very small (although we knew that from the square footage when booking). The staff members happily assisted with basics but we did feel bad when asking for two pillows and reporting the shower, receiving eye rolls from the staff involved.

Thank you for this detailed review which, like the curate's egg, is good in parts. So that we can identify your room, we would appreciate your messaging the hotel direct please as their were a couple of mid-week stays which could fit the bill. We can then address properly the shower [it sounds like a new cartridge is needed] and "pillow-gate" as we shall call it. The hotel has plenty of spare pillows so this should never be an issue and please accept our apologies for the apparent dislocation

This hotel is perfectly located on Brighton Seafront. Staying in (very large) room 208 with a wonderful view of the setting sun over the pier was magical. The staff were all very friendly, particularly the lady on reception and the lady serving breakfast. I never normally like breakfasts in hotels, preferring to go exploring but this was exceptional. And great value. Overall, the hotel represents excellent value for a Friday night in February and so much less than other hotels just along the seafront. I agree with other comments about the noise of the nightclub and then the main road in the morning, but earplugs are provided. There’s some maintenance required in the bathroom (shower temperature control and basin tap) but I cannot fault what was an excellently good value stay.

Thank you so much for this balanced and lovely review. Ingrid and Ugne are over the moon with your kind words. We are conscious of the maintenance related issues and at the time of writing are awaiting a new shower cartridge and valve so that we may resolve. Very much looking forward to your next visit and renewed thanks meanwhile

Stayed at legends on my own , from the moment I came in I was made to feel very welcome. Checked in and went up to my room, lots of plug sockets in the room and good lighting. The room was spotless and plenty of towels. Ear plugs were provided. I went downstairs and watched the entertainment, the bar was busy but I was served quickly, the bar prices were very reasonable. I then went up to the room and fell asleep. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to open a window. Breakfast was nice and hot and a good price! I’ve had breakfast in hotels in Brighton before and they have been more expensive and the same quality. All in all a lovely hotel with kind and attentive staff who clearly enjoy their job Will be staying again

The hotel was in a great location, l had a Seaview but very small room, which as l arrived in January, no events on, l would have thought a free upgrade would have given the hotel a better review Price of hotel was good, but the drinks were not. For Brighton probably average, summer time, but again in winter should be more offers The noise around 2am, 3am incredible, especially as hotel no where full

This is like the curate's egg, good in parts. Whilst we cannot detect from your 'handle' when you may have stayed, we cannot agree that the hotel has been quiet in terms of business, anymore than we accept the suggestion of "no events on", with our social media feeds confirming we have enjoyed a very full month. To be clear, given the immense pressure the sector is under, and our ultra-competitive pricing, we are not in the business of providing "free upgrades" Legends makes no bones about being a busy and vibrant venue but, for our lighter sleepers, we provide ear-plugs as part of the the room amenities. We also need to disabuse the assertion of expensive drinks which is simply not the case given a daily 4 hour "happy hour" allied to the quality of the venue

Was really nice staff but we had a broken shower head that went everywhere and we still had to use it all weekend. They could have just changed it from a room not being used. Breakfast is really nice and lovely location but if u don’t like being woken up by music don’t stay on first floor

PROS: The hotel is situated right on the front of the beach line and our sea view room had a great view. Not a long walk to the Lanes either. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and it had plenty of plug sockets. Staff were friendly and the downstairs bar filled up for a night atmosphere in the evening. Would say it was priced fairly. CONS: the bathroom was very cramped and the body wash provided was half used. The bed linen and towels had an unpleasant smell and perhaps could do with replacing. Due to being on the beach-front the room got particularly chilly in the evenings but not awfully so.
