First time staying at Sea Spray. Got a special deal through booking.com - bus from station down to stop by road near hotel. Hotel is a townhouse in a row overlooking a green. Stairs to entrance. Greeted by Daniela, who introduced herself, was friendly, courteous and informative. She explained things, was genuinely interested in me as a guest, which made me feel welcome. She took my case upstairs, explained the layout, breakfast etc and left me to it. Room was aired, clean, bright and fresh. Windows were open, bathroom had a proper wooden toilet seat and was nicely decorated. I went out, came back later. There is NO 24 hour reception. No night staff. Guests are given keys to the doors and trusted to lock up when they come in after 9pm. I was initially nervous about this as if anything went wrong I didn't fancy making a phone call and waiting for the on duty night porter who was wherever. However, the night passed without incident. Breakfast. Greeted by Daniela who was very nice and helpful, poured coffee, got me some juice, explained the chef would cook off menu if I fancied anything. Radio music, jazz was gently playing, the breakfast room was decorated with shells and beautiful pictures and fresh flowers. Lively and clean and fresh. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of choice. Fruit bowls, yoghurt, juices, continental, full English- all fresh and regularly topped up. Toast was brought to your table so no messing about with toasters. Went out for the day, came back snd was genuinely surprised to see my room had been vested and refreshed. Really appreciated this. I understand about these difficult times but some hotels are using covid as an easy excuse to not clean/refreshments the guests rooms. So I was pleased my room was attended to. Third day of stay after second night Daniela had a day off. Jazz music was replaced by a popular music station. Staff seemed distracted as they were trying to wrestle with a large fridge freezer delivery as the delivery men only delivered to the door. Staff were really struggling with this huge fridge freezer and so breakfast didn't feel the same as the previous two days. It felt like I had entered a time warp and come down to completely different staff but they were distracted by the delivery difficulty. I did feel for them as they were struggling with it. I was allowed to leave my case in storage so I could go out for the day before leaving for the trains home. Overall it was excellent. Daniela an asset. She made me feel welcome and showed a genuine interest in me as a person and I really appreciated that. I would stay again but the prices would have to match my budget at the time. If money was no object obviously I could stay longer. The only minor issue I can find fault with was the shower head was fixed to the wall and I'm short. Didn't fancy wet hair to dry off so this was a bit difficult to manage. But that was all. Thank you, Daniela.

This is a real gem of a hotel, situated 2 mins from the beach front, and close to pier, but on a quieter side road overlooking a garden. We found parking on the road for £12.00 for 24 hours! a total bargain. The hotel is beautifully clean with enormous vases of fresh flowers to welcome you into their reception. We had a stay in The New York penthouse at the top of the hotel. The only negative (not for us however) is that there is no lift, so stairs to climb in this town house. We looked into other rooms and they are appeared excellent so do not worry which room you have. A special mention to the manager of the chain of hotels who found us our room after a mix up with Secret Escapes, and also to MARTA who couldn't have been chirpier, more helpful and on the button about everything...she is a real asset. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Fabulous breakfast all you could want or need, we had delicious poached eggs and crispy bacon as a special order (all included in your price) Our room was spotless - so well done the cleaners there!!

Martha, Robert and Daniella (the faces of sea spray), very welcoming professionals, friendly and helpful. and the rest of their team that works behind the scenes - great customer service. We only stayed two nights, but we were surprised how warm, personal and amazing the staff is. It's rare to see and we are very glad to have encountered this. They were all going above and beyond, offering advice and caring for us - thank you guys! hotel: very convenient location. easy check in. breakfast served at a very reasonable time.
