Recent visit on 24/11/16 Very quirky joint that me and my colleague stumbled across for a coffee. The features inside were very good and gave a cosy feel. It's close to the Rye town centre and does offer food options. I would come back here to eat as thought quality looked decent. This is also a hotel but can't judge... More

Conveniently located around 10mins walk from the station, The Ship Inn is a lovely pub and hotel close to Rye's town centre. When we arrived on Saturday (14.00pm) the pub was quite busy (and it continued to be for the rest of the weekend), probably because it was the bonfire festivities that same weekend. The rooms are all decorated differently... More

Visited on Bonfire night to find many food outlets to be very busy or fully booked. Many thanks to Theo and his team as they made us feel very welcome and facilitated our needs Excellent food, great atmosphere and beautiful position, overlooking the harbour

Came here for a pub lunch and was very pleased we did. The barmaid was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. We had yummy thai chicken wings and the scallops followed by sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble.....Everything was delicious. The pinot grigio was lovely too. We would certainly return here for lunch again....

We went to Rye for the day and as we had taken our dog we had already found out which eating establishments allowed dogs, The Ship being one of them. After waking around Rye we stopped at The Ship for a coffee and got talking to a lovely lady with a huge Irish wolf hound. By the time she left... More

Had a meal here on a Saturday night after booking earlier in the week. The table was for 5 adults and 4 children. The place was very lively which I would expect for a weekend. We were served drinks quickly. There was a 'Boar Week' being held in the area so I decided on one of the Boar choices, others... More

The food was good the beer was good the staff do not know there wines or menus, the place feels a bit run down, not good when Rye has so many places to eat and drink. I would go some where else next time

Stayed here for 2 nights in Room 1. The room was comfortable and had a wardrobe and hanging spaces and drawers for clothes. Tea/coffee making facilities and a tall mirror. Bathroom was small but well equipped. Its an old building with bare floorboards in the room so there was some noise as expected. View onto the road so we experienced... More

The hotel is a lovely old building within just a few paces of the very old and pretty streets of Rye. So it is a great location for visiting Mermaid Street and the high street and the other touristy delights of Rye. We stayed in room 9, which is apparently one of the larger rooms. There were a few old,... More

Very old Inn with ten rooms on the third floor so not good for people that have difficulty climbing stairs. the staff are helpful and cheerful. The breakfast is served from 08:00 until 11:00 so good for people that are on vacation not so good if a business trip. Very close to the Ypres Tower.
