Whether you are walking with HF Holidays or vacationing on your own, this historic property is steps away from the stone bridges over the central river through the town centre. Lots of hot water and rooms have a kettle and tea selections. Excellent meals. Daniel the manager and Loreena, restaurant manager, work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Don't forget...

We stayed here for a 3 day walking holiday and a very keen price. The accommodation was excellent as was the food, which included a brilliant packed lunch which you assembled from a limitless table yourselves. The house was warm and bright and the staff very friendly indeed. We will definitely now join the HF group who own this and...

Harrington House is one of 19 houses managed by HF tours in Britain. It is a lovely old house, the rooms basic but comfortable, the staff very accommodating and the meals absolutely fabulous. In addition to our group of 17 Canadians, there were walkers from Britain and other parts of the world which made for lively discussions and conversations during...

Staff friendly and welcoming. Food very good although vegetarian options could be better. Room very nice with a lovely shower en-suite. I was on a guided walking holiday and the walks in the area are varied and enjoyable and not too arduous.

We stayed in June for an Arts & Crafts tour of the area. Our room was large, comfortable & on the first floor with a view over the House gardens; it was quiet. The food was good and plenty of it. The packed lunches were a novel idea as we had not had an HF holiday before. Jane, our leader...

Stayed for 4 nights as part of HF walking group. Very comfortable room in Windrush Cottage annex. Creaky floors but that added to the charm. The staff and service were excellent. So friendly, helpful and charming. Clean and tidy room and shared areas. Food was good. Sensible portions, tasty, well presented. Lovely lady at the little bar needs a special...

Harrington House is run by HFHolidays providing walking and other holidays in the House. The rooms are of variable comfort and standard. Our room in the house was excellent - everything we needed with a great view over the gardens. The guided walks were well organized. Breakfasts and packed lunches offer great choices. The dinners were a little disappointing. Fish...

We visited Harrington House as part of a members' special event. We have come to expect good standards of food after having stayed at several HF houses, but this was not as good as other places. The main course especially was poor, and this was the opinion of all those who had the roast beef on our table. The meat...

I stayed here on an HF short break walking holiday which was very well run and enjoyable. The hotel itself had something the character of a youth hostel for senior citizens. The other guests who were mainly Canadian were almost all over sixty. The hotel was tailored for walking holidays with a boot room and drying facilities. Meals were served...
