very relaxing place to stay in a wonderful village, staff were helpful and friendly and the room although we paid for a superior room was good if not overwhelming. The rooms look a little tired, but were comfortable. The food served was ok, and the open firepalce with a blazing fire on a cold night was most welcome. Breakfast was...

This is not a hotel in the true sense, more an Inn. It has a pub atmosphere. Great location, right on the water front. Staff are friendly. Venue needs some TLC and a good clean would make it more welcoming. Food was good. Village is wonderful. Very Cotswold with great places to visit. Very picturesque and nice for the weekend...

Three different menus to look at - too much choice. My husband's game burger he said was disappointing. My game pie was ok, nothing to write home about. Mash was not proper mash made with fresh potatoes - it had that powdered taste. The service was good and they had New Zealand SB to drink so I was happy. We...

Thank you for your comments. We do offer quite a range of different style dishes to suite all tastes. If I remember correctly, at first, only sandwiches were required and you ended up trying a different range of new items from the menus.

We spent one night here for my friends 50th birthday, it is located right next to the stream and central to all the coffee shops, cafes, shops and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance so perfect. After our meal in the Italian we returned to the Manse where we say next to an open fire. Very cosy indeed and very...

I think that about sums it up. A pub, with rooms. Small rooms, tired rooms, requires a complete refurbish and limited parking. Friendly staff, descent breakfasts, good lunch and dinner menu. Beautiful village. Enough said.

Location is excellent and staff are very friendly but we wanted to stay and enjoy a proper old country inn with the promise of a log fire. However the fire looked redundant and the bar has been modernised so little hint of its past remains. Live music in the bar means it would be impossible to sleep until that finishes....

Thank you for your comments, our open fire is now roaring away after being swept. Maybe visit us again to enjoy. As you can see from other comments, none of the hotel has been modernised in any way.

Friendly staff. Nice welcome, good parking. Room in the annex was small and shower room tiny with cracked sink and cracked tiles. With many weeks worth of dust on pipes and in corners. Prime location, beautiful looking Hotel on the outside but unfortunately ruined on the inside, totally characterless, void and impersonel, nothing traditional left to show the history of...

Nice welcome. The room was ok. The duvet in our room had seen better days, it was worn and the filling bunched up. Bathroom small with shower. Hotel needed a thorough clean in my opinion. Nice breakfast and dinner.

Visited recently with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. A lovely old fashioned inn in a beautiful location - right on the water! Breakfast was excellent and the service was great. We would really recommend it if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with a traditional atmosphere, in easy reach of the rest of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Manse is a delightful English country inn overlooking the river Windrush, which flows gently through the centre of this picture-postcard Cotswold village. You can enjoy exploring this historic area of outstanding natural beauty with a stroll around the quaint little village of Bourton or simply curl up in front of a roaring log fire. Our rooms are all en-suite, where their size and layout do reflect the historic nature of our building, great for short stays and as a base to explore this beautiful location. Some of our rooms are located in the Old Manse Cottage, a short distance from the main building, but equally full of quirky features. A great selection of food and drink is available from our restaurant and bar. Guests should be aware that our car park is limited, however our team are always willing to assist guests with luggage and finding local alternate parking facilities. ... more   less
