Absolutely lovely place and incredible evening meal. Braised beef was the best ever and room 40 was really lovely. Staff were also amazing and we had a lovely walk down to the racecourse at Cheltenham. We also swam in the 29 degree outside pool and enjoyed the lovely jacuzzi and sauna too!
Another visit for Sunday lunch. We were looked after superbly by Jaye and Maia; very attentive, professional and courteous. The roast lamb I am told was delicious as was the chicken Caesar salad (love the anchovies). Location is great overlooking the racecourse. Lovely architecture of the building.
My sister , myself and my Mum spent a wonderful afternoon at Ellenborough Park. Afternoon tea was delicious. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable with friendly and attentive service by Angelos ,followed by a wonderfully friendly and informative tour by Veronica. We would like to thank all staff for making us feel so welcome and at ease. We look forward to returning soon.
This is a really beautiful hotel but oddly laid out. When you arrive at the hotel it’s not easy to find the entrance, sounds bizarre I know, maybe it’s me but I was looking for a sign saying “entrance”. Our room was fantastic, spacious and in a traditional style. Trying to find the outdoor pool was a mission but worth it. Despite it being freezing outside the pool was warm. But beware depending on your room’s location, you might have to walk outside for a few minutes in your swimwear to reach the pool. The spa was small but worth a visit. The bar is very comfy to sit in and drinks are reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good, lots of choice. I would recommend this hotel and will be back but probably next summer to make the most of the surroundings.
We had a wonderful stay here. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive, the hotel is spotless, and the food delicious. The best Hotel Breakfast ever!! The leisure facilities are great, and it was lovely to swim in the outdoor pool. Many thanks
My wife and I just got back from a 4 night stay at this beautiful hotel. Needless to say, we were not looking forward to going back home. The hotel and staff are impeccable! The grounds and rooms are kept immaculate and being an old Manor house it has a wonderful charm. We also got the chance to indulge in their lovely afternoon tea and also dined at their restaurant twice. The food was incredible with the chefs even going out of their way to make you something that would indulge your tastebuds. A very special mention to One, Jet, Thea, Emily, David, Verinoca, Amelia and all the rest of the wonderful staff there who went out of their way to make us feel special and comfortable. We were in a lovely room with a fabulous view which was fantastic to wake up to every morning. One word to describe our experience there - magical! Without a doubt, we will be going back very soon!…
I had the best time at the Ellenborough Park. The staff were all perfect. Veronica, the duty manager, was so helpful, kind and made our stay extra special. The food was perfection, breakfast lunch and dinner. The hotel itself is quite breathtaking. Maybe the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in in the UK. 100% would go back.
Dined here recently, this was our first visit to the property. First impressions were excellent - great setting and the property is very well presented. Our dinner reservation could not immediately be located but that was quickly resolved and we settled down for pre-dinner drinks. The staff were very attentive and service throughout was very good (and to the standard expected from such an establishment). The dinner menu was our first surprise - more of a bistro offering than fine dining..... don't really expect a burger to feature on the list of mains. Secondly everything was an extra - sides, bread(!!), no amuse bouches offered with pre-dinners drinks or at the table. Indeed I saw a notice in the bar showing prices even for nibbles with drinks. This is not what I'd expect from a place which purports to offer fine dining in such a setting. Our menu choices were fine and the food was tasty, well presented and of good proportion. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening but the at the prices which this place charges (£50+pp for 2 courses without drinks, or sides) you would expect something better and not a menu loaded with so many extras. The wine list was OK but not extensive and with very few options below £50/btl and most above £100/btl, I think they could be a bit more creative and inclusive for all budgets. So for such a grand (and very enjoyable) setting, you could be forgiven for expecting a better package for a meal which can quickly get into the £150pp range which, in other places, would get you a Michelin star menu.…
We all know of the problems since Covid, but young staff not as well trained as experienced staff before Covid. We stayed 3 days and ate in restaurant each evening. Cost approx £40 to £50 per person for 2 courses not including wine. When asked for a piece of bread to go with the belly pork starter we were told it would be extra! Seriously - we did not want a basket of bread, just one piece ( we should have offered to have one slice less at breakfast! ) we actually laughed about it. Our room had a terrace overlooking the pool, the terrace had not been cleaned or swept for a long time. It is just a shame to see standards not kept up to previous standards. Having said that you cannot fault the quality of the bedroom fittings, and apart from one main course the food was excellent. Breakfast very good, with as much bread as you wanted! It would have been appreciated if the staff were a bit more interested in their customers, as they used to be.…
Our third stay at this Fabulous hotel. The building views… beautiful but the team are what make it so special. It’s not cheap but so worth it. Thank you Ellenborough for all the little things you did for us to make it so special. We got stuck on the motorway & the hotel Manager Louise not only remembered us but sent to our room 2 glasses of fizz & a message to relax. Class! We’re planning a big party & can’t imagine having it anywhere else.
