Tasty food and decent portions at this pub. Staff were pleasant and efficient and our meals arrived in good time. The pie pastry was lovely and the batter on the fish was so crispy I could hear it being cut. Fab! The window seats were uncomfortable though - more cushion required!

We visited the Black Horse looking for a traditional pub. The menu was extensive and much more complicated than we expected, but we found a few things we fancied. Sadly when we ordered we weren't told there was a minimum of 45 minutes wait and when I enquired after an hour is was told I should have been told... No...

We have eaten here several times and always had an acceptable meal. Nothing special and not pretentious but good basic stuff. Service is friendly and the toilets are nice and clean (always a good sign!)

Visited the Black Horse for lunch with friends, this pub is a traditional English pub, the staff were very friendly and ordering was easy, the food came reasonably promptly and was ok, it was hot and the portion size was about right. Might think twice about going again.

This is an oldy worldy pub in the centre of Cirencester. It looks inviting from outside and is very comfortable inside. We only stayed for drinks but most other customers were eating, which speaks volumes. Dogs are welcome. Staff were very busy and efficient and mostly friendly. One 'petite' barmaid had a very stern attitude. She could lighten up.

I have been to this pub a few times over the years never had any problems with the food its cheap and cheerful , always a good selection of ale and not too expensive . If you are on a tight budget this is the place to be .

Always pop in for a meal a couple of times a month and have never had a bad meal. Good, traditional pub grub at affordable prices, especially the two for one steaks on a Friday or the buy one get one free during the week. Would definitely recommend.

I took my dad here for a bit of lunch during a shopping trip in the town. It was a very lovely experience :) the barman was a great help and pointed out the specials board and 2 for 1 menu choices. After we had chosen we ordered (we were able to change a couple of bits to suit our...

We love this pub, we are regulars, who eat there at least 2 or 3 times a month, we have had Xmas dinners there, they have always been welcoming when we have booked for very large parties, always accommodating, when we go for a birthday meal, we get surprised with a birthday cake ,can't fault them
