We stopped here because we are keen Tolkien fans and as stated it inspired the Inn of the Prancing Pony from Lord of the Rings. Quaint little pub but little explaining why or how the place was linked to Tolkien. We ordered a pint, so we could cheesily say "It comes in pints?!" Worth a pit stop, thankfully not a ring wraith in sight.
Stayed here while visiting the Cotswolds. Convenient from London and a great base for walks or excursions to other town. Staff went out of their way every day to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Close to walking trails and roads or buses to other towns.
We both had a great weekend stay at the bell. The staff and manager were so helpful and polite , really welcoming . The room was fantastic and as described before we booked . Entertainment was really good and this establishment felt the the focal point to f the town. Breakfast was delicious and the service personal and friendly. Not forgetting Finlay the dog :) The only niggle was the heating. Every time we wanted the heating on we had to ask the bar to switch it on. Small point. But otherwise amazing stay.
We stayed in one of the family rooms. The room was very nice and appeared to be recently renovated. The breakfast was wonderful and we had beverages in the pub in the evening. The hotel was not serving food on the night we stayed but they recommended some other locations near by and they were very good. I didn't know what to expect with this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. If I had one area for improvement it would be that the atrium area up to the stairs by the room could use a little tidying up. I would definitely stay here with my family again.
A great little pub to enjoy a light lunch (Ploughman's) and to enjoy the Six Nations The pub had very friendly staff and delicious food - highly recommended. Will be definitely returning if visiting Morton in Marsh again
We are staying 16th/18th January. What a warm welcome and Staff/ Owners are exemplary in their Attention and Service. Breakfast Hot/Tasty and plentiful. Room is comfortable and Shower has fantastic Pressure. Food in the day on a Sunday is great. Lovely Dog who relaxes in Lounge pretty much all if the time. Highly recommend this place for a stay. Rooms recently redone and supper cute with wooden beam, exposed brick, and lovely soft bedding. Convenient to rail station and walking trails. Owners super nice!! Pub warm & cozy with real fireplace. Free tea in room with clean modern en suite.
Just left The Bell after a 3 night stay. We'll definitely be back. Huge room, which is always good when there's 3 of you. Comfy bed. Really nice shower room. Lovely shower. Good breakfast. Lovely pub. Really well situated for walking eating, drinking and exploring. Lovely owners and their doggie Finlay! Couldn't really ask for more.
Lovely room in a converted outbuilding. Nicely done with exposed masonry walls. The shower was very powerful and adjustable. The room opened directly onto the courtyard outside pub seating but I don't think this is the sort of place that fills up with noisy drunks on a Saturday night. The window to the rear looked out on more seating so someone might get a shock if you don't close the blind! The hotel is five minutes walk from the railway station and is on the main street through the village. Unfortunately, I arrived too late to sample the food or to have a look around Moreton but it is the sort of place I'd revisit for pleasure rather than work at a later date. On a more practical note, all the plug sockets worked, the lights worked, the window opened, the loo flushed, the bedside lamp had a proper switch that was actually near the lamp and a bulb. And, hallelujah, the TV remote worked. These things are not so common as one might think. Good coffee for breakfast and only had time for toast but that was lovely proper bread sourced locally. Charming host and lovely dog.…
We booked for a late Sunday lunch expecting some roast options. The food choices were terrible, mostly deep-fried offerings with no traditional baked hot pub fodder or roasts. We didn't stay to sample the menu after all, and went elsewhere for lunch.
