Nestled in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, The Old Stocks Inn is a recently refurbished 17th-century coaching inn that really stands out from the crowd. Our boutique hotel is luxurious, but not stuffy. Elegant, but not pretentious. Quaint, but not twee. We're passionate about what we do and we have fun doing it. We think this all adds up to a unique experience for our guests - but come and see for yourself!

We had not read the small print about our dog staying with us… nevertheless, the staff bent over backwards and found a perfect solution for us. Us as a couple and our dog received a very warm, genuine welcome, which was consistent throughout our stay. This hotel is a beautiful old building, which (and I am not an interior decorator) has been sympathetically decorated and shaped so that you are able to enjoy home comforts and mod cons, including a stand alone radio, TV, good coffee machine, stocked fridge, good WiFi, etc, while feeling cosy, calm and happy. Our room was lovely, overlooking the market square with an excellent shower and comfy bed. Everywhere is clean and immaculate. Our breakfast was first class, lovely produce cooked very well and presented with lovely little touches, like small bottles for juices, salt with a little spoon, doggy biscuit bags, fresh milk in your room, etc. We also tried the cocktails which were presented beautifully and generous with the alcohol content! Not for breakfast though! We genuinely didn’t want to leave the next morning. Parking was easy in front of the hotel and ties in with checkout time. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would heartily recommend this venue as a base for visiting the Cotswolds as well as feeling like a home from home. We will definitely stay again!

f you find yourself fortunate enough to visit this most idyllic village, STAY HERE! Check-in was easy breezy and the woman in charge is nothing short of terrific! Our room was right on the front of the building overlooking the town square, old stocks, and church. I thought maybe it would be too loud, NOPE, the town is sleepy at night and no noise. AWESOME! Room was superb even with a low hanging beam that I was concerned with over the potential of knocking myself out on it after I might find myself a bit forgetful from a few too many ales. Neither my lovely wife or myself left with a bump. Breakfast was great. Food was top notch and the dining room looking out on the square nothing short of beautiful! Wifi worked great, water and shower were powerful and hot. No need for AC, windows open was all we needed. The view at night from the room over the church with the moon over it was priceless. Right across from the best pub, the Queen Arms, in town and a great bar inside the hotel as well. I could go on and on, but just to repeat myself STAY HERE!

We stayed in one of the tiny cosy rooms. It was unique and we enjoyed it and the look out the window over the old roofs. It was though....tiny....and my husband being 6 foot 2 had to duck his head frequently. Nevertheless we enjoyed it's quirks and amusing way we needed to step over the stairs and into the room. A little disappointed though in the breakfast the first morning....we were told to come at 8:15 since we had a 9:00 departure and we waited and waited on the serving staff and finally received our food at 8:50. Needless to say we weren't able to enjoy it. The second morning was a different staff, attentive and timely and we ordered the same thing so we could this time savor it. The location on the square is perfect and despite the breakfast delay we greatly enjoyed this unique old inn.

We have just stayed at The Old Stocks Inn this weekend and overall, we thought it was a fabulous place. Location couldn’t be better, right on the main square in Stow, all the staff there were fantastic, making us feel most welcome, especially Richard the manager, and the food was top notch, so hearty compliments to the chefs! The only small fly in the ointment was the state of the lane leading to the car park to the rear of the hotel…those potholes could do with filling as we don’t all drive big 4x4 cars that can easily cope with them! Also, we were given a room that had a sink and a bath right there in the room, so no separate bathroom or shower for us, just the bath and a separate toilet! Now, I’m sure many people would be happy with this arrangement (generally those younger and better-looking couples, I would assume) but being a middle-aged, over-the-hill couple ourselves, I definitely didn’t pay for a weekend away that involved being forced to watch the wife taking a bath. That sight should not have to be endured by anyone and is one that is going to haunt me for many a dark night! That apart, the stay was great and we would most definitely go there again, so The Old Stocks Inn gets a well-deserved thumbs up from us! 😊

Recently returned from what can only be described as an outstanding experience here. My wife and myself celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in Stow and the team at The Old Stocks Inn went above and beyond to make it memorable for us both. From the welcome glass of bubbles on arrival, to the beautiful sorbet dessert, we were truly blessed by the generosity. The Inn itself is a beautiful setting and the food was out of this world. We have a mouth watering slow cooked pork belly starter followed by perfectly cooked lamb main. We cannot wait to return to this stunning part of England and to the wonderful team at The Old Stocks again soon. Thank you ❤️

The sold Stocks Hotel was an excellent choice - perfect location right on the town square, close to shops, restaurants, and walking paths. The history of the hotel is interesting, it’s age impressive, as is the awesome decor resulting from a recent remodeling. Our room was spacious, clean, had tons of style and character. The beds were wonderfully cozy and comfortable, the shower awesome water pressure. The breakfasts were impressive, with latte’s and crumpets, along with wonderfully prepared eggs with salmon, avocado, etc. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our stay here a couple of weeks ago. I loved the decor in this 600+ year old building. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate one dinner and breakfast both mornings. The food was delicious and professionally prepared. The service was top-notch. We will stay here again if we happen to be passing through Stow-on-the-Wold again. (I really hope so). I would recommend grabbing one of the flyers they have posted that have maps for walks in the area. We had a great time walking to Slaughter and Bourton-on-the-Water. The staff here are professionals! They made our stay memorable.

This is one of our all-time favourite places to have stayed while touring around the country. It is a traditional old building but the decor and vibe is far from being twee. The room was a good size, comfortable and stylish. Food and drink was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Just one point for visitors to note: the Inn does have a private car park to the rear of the building, accessed via Parson's Cor. However, the private track leading down to the car park is uneven and heavily rutted so I wouldn't risk driving down it in any vehicle that didn't have a good amount of ground clearance. This is not a huge problem as we always found parking available in the town square, directly in front of the building.

5 Stars from start to finish! Pre arrival instructions were helpful, check in was easy and room was beautifully appointed in a boutique style with classic fm playing on arrival. Located in the main square in touching distance of pubs and shops and plenty of parking.

I loved the Old Stocks Inn. Quaint inn in 600 year old building with a great bar, wonderful breakfast included and very comfortable, clean rooms. Located right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold so very easy to walk around the village. I hope to be back!
